Tomorrow must be Throwback Thursday because this rendering looks like something that was proposed way back in the 70's!

Bizarre proposal for a bizzare site. Commendations for creative use of space? On the other hand, think of how that stretch of Boy Scout will - almost - look like a dense, walkable city when speeding between massive intersections...

Well, if nothing else this would plug that gap and conceal the adjacent electric substation from view from Boy Scout Blvd.

Building looks like something you'd find in an IKEA catalog.

This looks like something you would see in Channelside, modern and 'IKEA' like is a good observation.

Def. agree with all of the opinions so far..looks like something out of an IKEA catalog as well as a 70's image quality rendering. At the very least it would fill in that gap with something that's not your typical 2/3 story standard square box.

I passed by this lot today, from a laymans POV it's amazing how this building is going to fit onto this lot, it looks so small from the road. But I do like the design, especailly given the constraints of the land. More retail is good for me as a neighbor as well

Yeah it's actually impressive they're building this over their retention pond.

I'm hoping Eddie V's moves into this spot, which would vacate its current spot for the 12 story hotel that was originally supposed to go there and that the foundation for is already laid down.

What happened to the 12 story hotel plan?

The recession. And they built Eddie V's on top of it using the foundation that was already built for the 12 story hotel. That Eddie V's has the strongest foundation of any restaurant in the Bay area.
