In other matters, the attempt to have state funding for some of TBARTA's priority projects (i.e. OBA expansion) was vetoed by Governor Scott and uncertainty remains over whether he'll sign or veto the TBARTA restructuring bill. Also, I heard that Pinellas Forward's funding request for ferry transit (I think a study for it) was also vetoed.

The Wiregrass Park-N-Ride will open on 7/17/17. At that time, the two existing 51X Park-N-Ride lots will permanently close.

Also, HART has begun posting how each region of Hillsborough would be affected by the planned system restructuring. Here's the Brandon area: http://gohart.blogspot.com/2017/06/h...ndon-area.html

This map is always the most up to date:

https://platform.remix.com/map/650bc...,-82.37034,z12

With the exception of the elimination of the 27LX, 47LX and 53LX, most of the South County changes have been reverted until alternate forms of transportation can be explored more in depth. Additionally, 53LX will be re-implemented when funding allows.

Don't know. Order is in flux due to Gillig moving to a new manufacturing facility.

Right. Gillig recently "completed" its move from Hayward, CA (next to the San Mateo Bridge) to Livermore, CA (close to Interstate 580)... but it is still within the San Francisco Bay Area.

Which I can totally understand, but I was curious. SCAT has received all of its 1700s (20 of them) despite the move.

The HART network redesign has changed quite a bit since the last time it was mentioned:

Route 1: Every 30 15 mins, entire length.
Route 8: Reverted to current routing.
Route 11: On hold until new construction along Main St nears completion, now a TDP expansion project.
Route 31: Reverted to current routing, remaining local.
Route 34: Every 15 20 mins, entire length.
Route 39: All buses turning back via Sligh/50th/Puritan/56th instead of netpark.
Route 48: New route covering areas north of Fletcher Ave in USF Area formerly served by Routes 1/18/33/57. Routing is still TBD at this point, and it might be implemented as a flex route.
Route 571 South County Flex: Reverted to current routing.

The last community outreach is in West Tampa on Monday, after which an updated plan will be put together and presented for board approval.

Glad that Route 1 has been revised. The original change to that route has by far been the biggest complaint by customers. Lots of people in University North are lower income and I hear many have been furious with the possible loss of bus service.

On the PSTA side, the 17100s have been produced and should be delivered in the coming weeks. There will be five buses in this year's order - 17101 through 17105, which will be virtually identical to the 16100s, except that they are 35-footers.

I attended last night's public hearing on HART's system restructuring and boy was it a packed house! Lots of concerned riders.

Among the revisions being made (further revisions may be made as the board makes the final approval in August)

*Extend Route 33 to Hidden River to absorb the Hidden River MetroRapid trips.
*Keep Route 36 on Himes between MLK and Busch.
*Eliminate the Davis Rd split for Route 39, all buses would loop around Puritan/Sligh.
*Split Route 45 into two segments at Yukon Transfer Center. Route 45 would serve WestShore Plaza via Rome Ave/Yukon T.C. and Route 42 would serve some of the areas in University North that would have lost service from the 1, 6, 9, & 33.
*Have the 360LX serve Dale Mabry between MacDill and Britton Plaza only on Sundays.
*Postpone implementation of the 275LX until FY19.

I remember discussing HART Route 33 in this post: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpo...postcount=5447

Funny how it will basically return to the routing shown in the above link/thread, with the exception of two jogs that it used to do.

First bus arrives on Saturday. Second batch later this year will be BRT style, same look as the LYNX CNGs. All buses forward will be of that design, with the sloped front to hopefully cut down on direct tree limb strikes on the protective tank shell. It also lets HART piggyback off of LYNX orders instead of just the LYNX contract, which could offer additional cost savings.

More changes have gone through since the board meeting. Particularly, Route 45 has been straightened out through West Tampa, and now uses MacDill Ave from Martin Luther King to Cypress St.

Updated remix map:

https://platform.remix.com/map/440b9...,-82.48964,z13

Also, an updated 10-year TDP "Needs" plan is also out:

https://platform.remix.com/map/968fd...,-82.32399,z11

Note that both maps are still in flux, particularly the TDP. There are changes under consideration that will adjust many of the existing routes and continue to further the system toward a city-wide straight line grid.
