A new hotel is officially under construction in Tampa's Westshore business district.

So putting aside the ideal situation, Westshore becoming a more walkable area, I think this is great.

There is no real transportation option, especially when it comes to this area where many who work in these office buildings live from all over the area.

Having said that, there will be pockets of decent walkable areas that develop for sure and once that happens, it will progress. Still need to be able to zip in and out with a car effectively until the monorails are built...

As more housing is developed in and near Westshore and downtown, commute patterns will change somewhat. They already have been from the growth seen so far.

I'm not sure what the best place for this is, but it looks like Blue Martini is going out and is being replaced by Rocco's Tacos. This is a plus for me because I don't drink martinis but do like good Tex-Mex, and there isn't much in the area.

This may be a shift in the marketing of Int. Mall or a change in late night. That area always had a great happy hour and night scene. Int mall may be changing or trying to change. I like Margaritas and they sell just as well as martinis.

MetWest has filed a substantial change request to build a new 11 story office building.

The MetWest project as a whole, not the new building they're moving forward with.
