here is the criteria for it and I guess we can add a link so we would know what criteria is needed for these. Now, if the country has the venue but the criteria is failed to meet, it wouldn't help the country even if the country has the infrastructure for it. It's like what I've stated before, the country needs to have a inviting investment atmosphere and that we have a strong manufacturing and export industry having all these infrastructure we are hoping for would not 100% guarantee foreign and local investments, we have to be innovative more than anything else to get in the same status as China, Japan, Korea and most advance progressive countries in the world. They built their economy first and the infrastructure projects started falling into places to help support those economic increases.

Madrid is the most ideal host.. but I bet for Japan so that it would be closer in the Philippines.. I might get an early ticket

Kelan maghohost ang Pilipinas, 2050? Meron nang ginagawang mga new arenas and stadium sa Bulacan ba iyon or Tarlac?

Kung tuloy-tuloy yung paglago ng ekonomiya natin, baka by 2040, pwede na tayo maghost. Sana.

lol. ilan ba seating capacity ng Philippine Arena? 50K-55K dba? for future Olympics, dapat mas malaki pa diyan ang seating capacity. the new japan national stadium shall have 80K seating capacity which will be ready by 2019.
tska kailangan ding iimprove ang roads and railways for better and efficient transportation, ndi lang mga sporting venues. isang factor din yan pagpili ng host. kelangan din ng Olympic village, kung saan mag-istay ang mg aathletes. tsaka comfortable accomodations for the expectators and tourists.

Tokyo presented a very strong technical bid from the outset – and it needed to in competition with two such high-calibre bids from Istanbul and Madrid. All three cities were capable of staging excellent Games in 2020, but in the end it was Tokyo’s bid that resonated the most with the IOC membership, inviting us to “discover tomorrow” by delivering a well-organized and safe Games that will reinforce the Olympic values while demonstrating the benefits of sport to a new generation.

RESULTS:

Round 1
Tokyo: 42
Istanbul: 26*
Madrid: 26*

Round 1 tie-breaker
Istanbul: 49 - moves on to Round 2 of voting against Tokyo
Madrid: 45
Round 2
Tokyo: 60 - Awarded the 2020 Summer Olympic Games!
Istanbul: 34
if Tokyo got 48 votes in 1st round, automatic na sana na sila mag host..

Do you think may chance ba tayo to properly plan the Olympics with that time frame?

di na pwede mag host ang Asia sa Olympics sa 2024.. since 1960, no continent host the games 2 consecutive times.. so either North America, South America, Europe, Africa and Australia yung mga accepted bids..

we just need a concrete Sports Program na mag focus sa mga kids or youth of today.. it should be implemented nationwide.. we should focus all sports events.. not just our strong ones or weak ones.. it should be all sports events.. then put a sports facility in the most strategic area na pwede lahat yung sports.. from triathlon, water sports, marathon, ball sports, lahat..

Mikee Cojuangco eyes Olympics

ACCOMPLISHING her mission in the International Olympic Committee, Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski has now set her sights in the Olympics.
Cojuangco-Jaworski, an Asian Games champion in equestrian, said outgoing IOC president Jacques Rogge assured that she could still play in the Olympics even after being named a member of the most powerful sports body in the world.
“I can still aspire to be an athlete in the Olympics and I was very relieved to hear that,” said Cojuangco-Jaworski, who arrived yesterday from Buenos Aires, Argentina where the 125th IOC session was held.
“He (Rogge) told me that if I can qualify, I can play in the Olympics,” she added.

Other ASEAN countries qualified for 2014 Winter Olympics? not sure, but although the Philippines is the first ASEAN country to compete in the Winter Olympics (1972), I believe only Thailand is other country from the region to have competed in the said event. Thailand competed in 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympics.
