Per Channelside Resident's facebook page:

Quote:
You heard it here first: The name of the new apartments currently under construction on Kennedy Blvd between 11th and 12th streets is....ATLANTICO!
Time to update the thread.

I was hoping for Amazon.

The Amazon, Amazon Flats, Amazon Lofts, etc. I'm sure there would have been copyright issues even if the developers had wanted to use the name, but since that building was here for so long, I just keep calling it "the Amazon space." Guess I'll have to get used to Atlantico.

Well, it's certainly not any worse than some of the subdivision names out there...

Drove by today and no construction going on yet but snapped a photo just to give a backdrop so you can imagine the building there

So have they started on anything significant yet, or are they letting the dirt sit there for a while?

Tomorrow they are doing work apparently on site since they are shutting down the road and the Times was saying it could impact traffic for the game tomorrow.

I thought that article was in regards to the Aurora, which the the one much closer to Amalie Arena.

Yes, the article was about the Aurora, not Atlantico.

They moved a production trailer on to the south end of the lot either yesterday or the day before -- it wasn't there on Wed for sure.
