Article is a couple weeks old but gives some good info on traffic closures:

Construction to closure some Tampa roads

By Jason Clough
Published: December 16, 2015, 4:21 pm

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A road closure on E. Tyler St. between N. Florida Ave. and N. Franklin St. is scheduled to begin Sunday, December 20, 2015 and last until April 1, 2016, due to portions of the road being closed for the demolition of the existing buildings and the construction of a 23-story multifamily and commercial building at 915 Franklin Street. The existing road closures along E. Tyler St. and E. Cass St. will also remain in effect.

^The article mentions that the project has a top floor clubhouse. Don't think that was known before.

I'm sad to see that yellow building go as it was unique and charming. However, this project is much more needed

Tampa has such a lack of parking that it makes much more sense to tear down all those useless old buildings and replace them, saving all surface parking lots.

Talk to the owners of the surface lots.

Or better yet, talk to city about the property tax policy used on urban surface lots.

I really like the look of the Grant Block. This should breathe some fresh life into the area.

This should finally bring a deal to the Kress building and I would not be surprised to see a deal made by the time this block is cleared.

The Kress will be surrounded by some great residential projects and no longer part of the blighted blocks just out of site.

Agreed Brian. Can't wait to see this positively impact the Kress block. The Grand Block is ok, nothing completely amazing going on with the proposed structure but the positive impact it will have on the Kress block is more what I am after.

Yeah among the 8 blocks within a block radius of the Kress, being abandoned will now be the exception, not the trend.

Now the 2 most important lots to be redeveloped to really make a difference in downtown Tampa are the 610 Franklin and Twelve Lots.

Walking past the Tampa Harness & Wagon building I noticed a white box on the wall. It has a notice about demolition (it's a permit box). Do you guys know if it's standard to attach these permits to another building for another job (Grant block)?
