Hotly contested apartment tower on Harbour Island appears to be moving forward
Dec 4, 2015, 2:18pm EST

Ashley Gurbal Kritzer
Reporter
Tampa Bay Business Journal

A hotly contested apartment tower in downtown Tampa appears to be moving forward.

Harbour Island residents had sought to reverse the city's approval of The Manor at Harbour Island, a 21-story apartment tower proposed at 402 Knights Run Ave. Miami-based Related Group is the developer.

The second district court of appeals affirmed the circuit court's March decision that the city of Tampa did not break the law in its development review process of the tower. The affirmation was handed down Nov. 20, said John Grandoff, the attorney representing the Harbour Island citizens.

Grandoff declined comment on the group's next move. Representatives from Related and the city attorney's office could not be reached for comment Friday afternoon.

The second district court of appeals = state court?

The second pic looks the best IMO. I hope it's as beautiful when actually built as these renders.

Yeah

The 2nd is the only one with two courthouses. Main one in Lakeland but smaller one in Tampa too.

Hard to say if Related is pushing for the Tribune project to go soon.

But Harbour Island has always been sort of its own submarket. They could well build both at the same time, though that seems unusual. Novare basically did it last time though.

Aside from the court dealings, there seems to be no reason to delay the start now with all green.

Surly they wanted to wait until all appeals were final.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this move slowly either.

It will be nice to tilt the cam right on it. Hopefully soon we'll see the building and remaining trees disappear.

Good question. Hey, check the cam. I see two trucks sitting past the rocky drive way.

Hmmm...some kind of activity as of yesterday (see city portal)
"Architectural permit resubmittal 12-18-16"
I can't get the pdf to open. Can anyone explain or guesstimate what this means?

They submitted revised construction docs for approval. Not changed plans, red lines.

Looks like we'll have this, Grant Block and Channel Club break ground in the next couple months.

Something's going on right now. You'll need to move the cam over and zoom in.

It's on the north part of the property.

Now the property has a higher fence around it and it appears that the office workers next door can't park there any more. Slow but progress.
