I wouldn't be shocked to see USF med get two cranes. Buildings of that use tend to get them more often and USF is on a tight schedule to have it open for the 2019 school year.

Especially since they have to build a detached garage too.

I know some are saying this lacks density. Actually I think when it's finished it will have a look of density. I drive west over the crosstown bridge coming home from work and can picture three eight story buildings on that parcel. They're going to add a lot of urban fabric. This project is also moving along quickly.

I've definitely grown to accept this project. I think it will be a better use than what used to exist there and will add hundreds of new residents to an up and coming area of the city. Glad to see cranes on the up swing again for downtown.

Wait, so it's now only one eight-story?

This is the Tribune project, not the Harbor Island one.

So when it's complete is it going to change from Manor Riverwalk to Icon Riverwalk?

They probably felt this should have been called Manor and that is what led to the name being changed on HI to Icon.

^While nether is an "Icon" I would personally flip the names from what they picked out.

It doesn't really bother me either way, but Manor HI sounds better to me. The style of the building aligns with Manor more than Icon, but just the fact that it's the first name I heard for it may be influencing me too.

Why such confusion. The Tribune site is 3----8 story buildings. Hence the 2 cranes. But as many have said its going to be really nice when finished but just wishing it was like 3-----20 story buildings.

Actually saw the cranes on Hard Knocks last night.

Manor Riverwalk rising along Hillsborough River’s west bank, downtown Tampa
CHERYL ROGERS | TUESDAY, AUGUST 22, 2017

A group of approximately 80, including local dignitaries, stakeholders and neighbors, are expected to gather at 10 a.m. August 23 for the official groundbreaking of Manor Riverwalk, an eight-story apartment complex that will replace the building that once housed The Tampa Tribune on the city skyline.

The ground has been leveled and construction has “gone vertical” at 202 South Parker Street on the Hillsborough River’s west side downtown, according to Arturo Peña, VP of Development for Miami’s Related Group, the project’s developer.

Love this quote from the article: “We have our financing in place. We are underway,” Peña says. “We think that’s a huge iconic addition to the Tampa skyline.
8 floors won't even be seen in the "skyline".

18 or perhaps even 28 stories would have certainly made an impact on the skyline, especially on the west bank side.

Imo. I still like the fill in. It's very similar to Crescent on Bayshore. Hopefully River walk Place - AER- Del Villar and all of Water Street will be iconic.

Yeah, the parking garage podiums seem to take forever. Since this building doesn't have one must be progressing much faster. It's already halfway to the top!
