I can't believe it. Larry F. replied......

Hello Robert – thank you very much for the kind words.
We don’t see a problem being approved for the height that we’re seeking.
Architectural renderings are expected in about a 2 months – stay tuned.

Regards,

Larry Feldman

Seems like they're targeting 2nd half of Feb/1st half of March to reveal them.

I'll try this again on a blue sky spring day. Wish I had a better camera.

I'm not sure what "status" it technically falls under but it's def preliminary work of what's to come. Otherwise, I wouldn't have taken the pics.

If it is geotechnical work, then that is definitely not site prep. It is testing, which could come back good or bad. It could delay or move up the project or flat out cancel it.

Site prep refers to grading, clearing, etc. Drilling to test soil borings is not prep.

Are they going all the way down to the bedrock with this kind of work? It could be totally different than what's under the beer can?

Keep in mind Trump Tower already shored up this site significantly back in the day.

What's in the ground could be different than what was there on the same site the last time it was tested in 2007.

What it means is they haven't completed the structural design yet.

I was approached by a worker thinking he would tell me to get the hell off the property but he was cool and I asked if they had any issues. Told me to watch out for holes in the property. That's when I turned the cam back on. Yeah, not much.

Good write up on Larry Feldman, including more details on his proposed 52 story mixed-use tower on the former Trump Tower Tampa site.
