A lot of people will like it and won't want it to go. I really don't like it but it's not up to me to force my opinion on others so whatever.
Got to say the E-on office building is a whole lot less hideous than I thought it would be before it was finished. Is the building fit for any purpose other than it's current usage?

I'm not really sure why I like it, it just seems of a high quality. I like the large stone blocks, the detailing in the windows and the fact there isn't really anything else like it nearby.
What style would it be described as? Also if they knocked it down I wouldn't trust them to build anything remotely as good. Especially with Trinity Square overlooking it giving people ideas. |

I agree that I think the police element is pretty ugly. The fire station frontage isnt so bad- could become some interesting restaurants and bars, but no doubt the whole lot would have to come down. I would say this is one of Nottingham's best opportunities to get a 5* hotel as it would need to be substantial to have everything needed for this rating.

One of the lenton tower blocks looks like its being prepared for demolition. I could see from the A52 that it has scaffolding surrounding it and has had the windows removed.

The location of the police station was important IMO. We get the inevitable 'bars and restaurants' idea, but in fact is there the demand?
I've used that police station in the middle of the night when I've been robbed. I knew exactly where to go in my hour of need and for me it certainly made the city centre safer. If it closes down what police facility will there be right slap bang in the city centre? With the Tories decimating and privatising basically every one of our public services, losing our main fire and rescue and police stations from the city centre does not feel like a positive move to me. |

I'm not sure, I've not heard of that one. It's certainly not as close to the action as the main station, especially for night-time related incidents.

Demo is well uner-way; the garages have been pulled down and soft strip works are probably pretty much complete now, I think thay have started asbestos removal on another block there too now
