So should it just be left as a park on the edge of a round about? Remember Magpie Security are building their new head office in the remaining gap, which i think is probably a more key view of the cliff. Also Trivitt square planned to sit in the gap on the cliff (now that design doesn't look suitable to me)..

Don't mind this. Please that development is progressing, and there's been worse.

The view from London Road is decent, quite a big city feel in that render.

But it doesn't really do either of those things from the key vantage points of London Road.
What is does is mask the sub-standard early 2000's pokey LMP style box-room buy-to-let flats which mount Malin and Short hill.

What would you rather see here?

I'd rather see a nice lawned/gardened area - a bit like around the Robin Hood Statue/Brewhouse Yard, with spot lights lighting it up at night. The development itself could be built on the Southside, in the wasteland between the Meadows and the Station.

You wouldn't see this development being built in front of the Liver Building, St. Paul's or Edinburgh Castle so why is it ok for Nottingham?

Come on Kev, that view is good, but it ain't Edinburgh Castle or St Paul's. It won't even be obscuring things anyway.

I'm more bothered about if they build the college site in front of Pitcher and Piano etc, that would be tragic.

That would be completely inappropriate here, the roundabout needs a built edge against it to contain the space, it would be an awful park with a backdrop of an awful building.

Once the Broadmarsh Car Park changes get underway Collin Street will be gone and Canal street will be restricted.

Whilst the roundabout will still be there, traffic will snake down from Huntingdon street, down London Road, left through Queens Road, past where the Unity Square Development is supposed to be, and back up Wilford Road to get to Castle Boulevard if you want to go from East to West.

I can't decide on this one, really like the design but also agree that the site is sensitive and this might be of detriment...

Wow though, what a great place to live. Imagine coming home from work and enjoying a drink on the balcony soaking up all that pollution and noise from one of Nottingham's most busy roundabouts. Later enjoy dinner whilst watching all those poor homeless people arriving at the shelter for the night and then fill your lunges with all that good stuff being burnt at the Heating plant and the incinerator

I'm buying off plan and moving the mother in law in, as it will hopefully shave a few years off her life expectancy hehe... :-)

The Ice House was a cheap reclad and paint job on a 70s tower block.

This has a much better finish. It's just in the wrong place.

Never knew that, always assumed it was a new build.

How on good earth is it going to look exactly like it? Are you sure you know what the Ice house looks like?

I have combined a render from the Former Shell site with Trivett Square to give an idea as to what the future skyline will look from this area:

Thanks for the above.

It shows just how shockingly bad it is.

It won't look out of place in Nottingham either.

HyLyfe, a new sub-company of Nottinghams Monk Estate Group, have revealed their new website featuring the first of 4 projects in the HyLyFE pipeline. It is believed that this development along with the new Bridgford House proposal are the first 2 developments as part of the HyLyFE pipeline as they both total roughly 210 apartments; matching that as of the website. The 2 developments are to total 350 residential units.

A completion date of 2018 is expected as per the new website, looks like this is to start soon!

Is it just me, or is anyone else disturbed by the Apprentice-style marketing name 'HyLyFE' with it's mix of upper and lower case.

Vom.
