Wellington Airport had better be wrong on their interpretation because the ICAO recommendation is that all runways over 1200 m require a 240 m RESA and those under require 120 m. A certain amount of runway reconstruction in NZ may be required over the next few years.....

Perth seems to have always played 2nd fiddle to Sydney and Melbourne (and possibly Brisbane too) within Australia. Don't tell that to the Perthians though.

Yes especially Perth and Brisbane as there population is close to each other. With around 200,000 more in the Queensland capital.
