This means poor gets rich and that is why more demand for SL and AC coaches

Simple, visit Arul pages- there are some explanation are given i.e now a days 3rd AC coach only getting the some what revenue. remaining coaches are not getting revenue includes 2tier,1 st ac, and sleeper (Sleeper is works case to get revenue) and now a days don't say poor peoples. every people having some money(that means rotation money). and now a days upper-middle family and middle-lower family are choosing the train and they want preferred the 3rd ac..

People who never traveled in trains are traveling in UR now
People who traveled in UR then are traveling in SL now
People who traveled in SL then are traveling in 3AC now
People who traveled in 3AC are traveling in flight or 2AC..

Daily 50,000 people travel in UD buses of SETC.. all are capable of spending for SL coach.. 20,000 people travel in AC/Omni buses.. all are capable of spending for 3AC...

50,000+20,000 people needs can be fullfilled by 30 more up and 30 more new trains! This is the daily requirement and not weekend.. Weekend needs 20more...

If I remember correctly, eight years back, Normal Buses from Erode to Chennai was charging around Rs. 90, which was less than or equal to UR general train ticket. And Normal buses from Salem to Chennai was charging only Rs. 75. It was as per DMK's 2006 manifesto, to reduce the bus charges less than or equla to train fare.

I am not sure about the current fare of buses Erode/Salem to Chennai but I guess should have doubled now. But the Unreserved ticket hardly increased 15-30 rupees.

The difference between bus and train fare is highly increasing. I guess that's the main reason As Arul said "People who never traveled in trains are traveling in UR now".

IMHO, Railways should increase the fare -- to generate the revenue and to avoid over patronage (mainly due to very less fare compared to bus fare).

(Friday) and arrive Chennai Central at 19.55 hrs. in the same day.The composition of the train will be 1 AC 2-tier, 6 AC 3-tier, 10 Sleeper Class and2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches.The train will stop at Vanchi Maniyachchi, Kovilpatti, Satur, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Karur, Mohanur, Namakkal, Rasipuram, Salem, Bommidi, Morappur, Jolarpettai, Vaniyambadi, Gudiyattam, Katpadi, Arakkonam and Perambur.

Hmmm... Railways should not overburden the fare in a few trains in the name of premium to gain the mere revenue -- instead should increase the fare a little across (at least 20-25%). This would increase to decent revenue. But God only knows, will the new RM dare to do so -- even if he does, can he save his job!

It was Trichinopoly then :-) .. I've seen that name on this building in 1990s too, they have chipped it out now.
