#COMPLETED-Zallaq: "SOFITEL THALASSA BEACH RESORT" l Hotel

Well, finally after years they announced some thing about this project.

I'm not sure if there is another thread for this project.

ya i rember i couldnt go walk into sea if I wasnt wearing slippers because it was full of rocks and broken cans/glass. The clean beaches in Bahrain are only found in middle/upper class places like the ritz or al bander. They should really make a clean beach that the mass public can enjoy.

#PROJECT-B: BD25 MILLION ZALLAQ 5 STAR HOTEL

Work to begin on BD25m hotel

CONSTRUCTION of a BD25 million five-star beach hotel is to start in Zallaq early next year.

Preparatory work has already started for the world-class project, which is due to be completed by the beginning of 2008.

The beachfront hotel will have more than 260 rooms overlooking the sea - including rooftop luxury suites, a spa, restaurant, conference hall and marina with top-notch facilities.

The project is being implemented by the Zallaq Resort Company.

Considerable time and effort have gone into designing the hotel, which will have an entirely different ambience from other hotels in the country, said company board chairman Jasim Abdul Rahman Al Zayani.

"The hotel will complement the policies of His Majesty King Hamad to develop tourism at Bahrain's strategic locations," he told the GDN.

"The project has His Majesty's guidance, encouragement and support in the form of equity participation by the government."

The hotel will be managed by one of the leading international hotel operators, who are yet to be announced.

However, they are expected to bring spa and other luxury facilities to both hotel guests and members of the public alike, said Mr Al Zayani.

"The facility will have entertainment for all from quality fine dining to more casual facilities in the several dining outlets," he added.

"The water sports and marina facilities will provide immense opportunities for sports enthusiasts, as well as to visitors.

"One of the highlights of the hotel will be its state-of-the-art meeting/conference hall, which can cater to parties of over 1,200 people."

This will be built in Bapco Beach. It's the cleanest beach in Bahrain and is closed now from what I hear, but this thing has taken so long to start.

Cool design, Big Hotel!

We're going to have i think over 10 new five-star hotels in Bahrain by 2011...

The design is more like that of a nice university or hospital though...

for a concept design it looks good, Bahrain is surounded with sea, he should have many hotels facing sea side and clean those beaches once and for all...

Zallaq resort

Hi
Nice to read the opinions and views of the zallaq resort design. Yeah, Bahrain needs a lot of sensitive and careful developement, otherwise it will soon become a directionless concrete jungle. Wish, the principles of urban planning and Urban design be really enforced.
