Myer Centre Refurbishment

At first, it seemed as though they were just retiling the floors, but now they are repainting the walls from green to white, revamping the roofs as well as renovating the facades for where the lifts stop.

Does anyone have any specific information/renders on anything else they plan to do or when it will be finished? Or perhaps why there is large blue scaffolding outside Gloria Jeans in the food court?

At least it seems to be quite an improvement on the old 80's style.

One thing is clear - It is all happening in the city: apartments, scooters, café bars, live/work loft space. The urban renaissance has opened the door for a generation of café-dwelling, scooter-riding, European-city-breaking out of a diverse population to live the urban lifestyle without needing to be a stock exchange high flyer. Has no one ever heard of regeneration chic? Suburbia is so 20th Century.

I think they are trying to compete with Queens Plaza...When the new David Jones opens (apparently will be the best in the nation) the Myer centre would be shaking at their core...

Both centres are owned by the same company.

^ That still doesn't mean they can allow the revenue from either centre to plummet...

Brisbane to be the latest and greatest in all new retail developments???.. Myer and DJ's going head to head in the city then to top it off with the new IKEA centre in Logan. Have also heard a rumour that Hyperdome is planning to extend. That centre is certainly reap for a revamp too by now.

The original Dragon Coaster is still around... I'd suggest visiting Robina Town Centre to relive your Childhood memories.... except on wheels - not a track.

WHAT!
That is the worst news I've heard in a long long time.
Is it too late to bring it back to it's true home.
