No one needs another retractable roof stadium with a field that looks like Chase Field in Arizona. That outfield is a case study for field turf in retractable venues. And it's not even multipurpose like MBS

Which will grow the game more, this stadium or the grass 20,000-seaters other cities are building?
Just to add, but when it's utilized for hopefully a future 'World Cup'. They can very easily put a temporary layer of real grass on top. And that's been done before already at other stadiums with turf. Remember that this stadium is equipped with a drainage system!

Call me crazy, but I can totally see Atlanta United getting their own dedicated soccer stadium in the next 10 years.

I won't call you crazy, but I will ask this: Why?

The way I see it is, do you really believe Uncle Arthur who just spent almost a billion of his own money, will have a team he owns move anytime in the future? Who's going to pay for it? Arthur again or maybe the City of Atlanta's taxpayers? I don't think the money will be there in 10 years to be honest. As with stadiums here in Atlanta, let's hope we get to 20 years first before we start thinking about another separate stadium for soccer.

The only way I can see it making any kind of sense is if Blank pulled a Jerry Jones and bought something like 90 acres and used a SSS to anchor a mixed use development.

It's not crazy... just very, very unlikely any time soon.

This stadium was built with the World Cup in mind. I really don't think that AU will move anywhere. I think they will fall in love with this building.

I understand the sentiment with attendance like this but highly unlikely.

They would have to drag me out of this building. The open house had me thinking I'll be paying for season tickets for the Falcons and United for years to come....
