I don't think it will undermine it, it will perform the same role that tresd says that this building is but to a greater extent...fill in lots of gaps, remember most of it will be obscured, given the higgledy-piggledy nature of the CoL.

Really liking the canyon emerging here. When 150BG gets built, which is set back into this area, it should look great around here.

This may be a stupid question but is the cladding going to stay this colour or is it actually just protective coating?

I'll be in London in a couple weeks and will try and get some shots of all the towers

I agree. I disagreed with the design at first because of the bulge at the bottom however as it's developing my opinions are slowly changing, it looks surprisingly good in it's setting.
