also, im sure he has been under a fair bit of pressure but he hasnt exactly covered himself in glory as treasurer either so it becomes a lot harder to put up with him being a misbehaving twat
Although the "brilliant" thing needs to be taken with a grain of salt (or at least look at where the claim was coming from). From memory it came from his supporters during the chair sniffing episode.

Ben Wyatt is showing the right balance of wanting an explanation and respecting his privacy. Shadow Treasurer with more finesse than Mark McGowan

That 18st Barrack Sq hotel is out for construction tender, so looks like it may go ahead.

OMG, it's a historical find of a dinosaur bone believed from the Cretaceous. All construction activities are now halted with the Grasskeepers petitioning for the site to be nominated as UNESCO World Heritage Area.

Opposition heritage spokeswoman Margaret Quirk said the current strategy in place at Elizabeth Quay to protect the site’s history was “toothless”.

“This is a registered heritage site that is being destroyed without any regard to its significance,” she said.

“Finds like this are simply an inconvenience to the Government who wants to just get on with the project.”
If you say so...

Wait what? This was a piece of buried timber that was bulldozed for the past and the digging of it up is the heritage crime?

The Gatekeepers are just playing a delaying/interference role in spite over losing their picnic grass.

Most likely these posts were part of an early jetty or riverbank wall.
Their only value is that their location will indicate where those semi-permanent structures might have been. I mean, we did bury them when the river was reclaimed, reclaimed and reclaimed again. They serve no other purpose. It's not as though they'll teach us how how mid-nineteenth century post makers, made posts.

Does anyone know why the inlet by the island is now being filled? Seems illogical, as it's all then got be dug out again in the future.
