"In April 2012, JP Morgan announced their intention to complete the building up to street level, with work due to start in May 2012 for 12-16 months." - Wikipedia: the bible of all knowledge.
So they're finished/finishing with the basement level now, right?

Taken a couple of hours ago. Should this thread be moved to the Construction Forum?

..not until we know what's actually being built, there's a good chance it will all come to halt again once these basement works, which JPM are obliged to complete, have finished.

Well it definitely isn't "On Hold" anymore so surely it should be moved.

Construction is clearly construction by definition while it is ongoing, even if there is a risk of it being placed back on hold. It certainly isn't on hold right now.

Just change the thread title to Riverside South basements.

You can only hope projects like these and others will continue if the economy recovers. To some extent it depends on mood and confidence; this week's positive economic news can't hurt.

Now that it seems we avoided a double-dip recession (just), maybe some aggression will be inspired in to projects like this and Bishopsgate.

Can but hope.

Do you have information confirming JPM have decided to build the entire scheme now?

Oh I know we avoided the triple-dip. I believe we also avoided the double-dip too and expect it to be confirmed within a few weeks.
Though that's by the by.

I'm all for vertical living around the IoD but I would like to see this project continue as originally planned. It'd be a statement that the industry needs.
