Well if something is older then 100 years and marked as cultural heritage I assume it's with good reason.

These houses are part of a long art nouveau series of buildings (longest in Southeast Europe), all built in less then 5 years for cities most know lawyers, doctors etc. with very strict regulations in design. Each building if you look at it is not worth much since there are many more in the same city and even more in whole Europe, but it's the understanding of history and street design of that whole group of buildings that makes them unique and quite valuable.

Same situation you have in many other cities, such as New York;

A single house is not worth much, but that series of buildings and the way they are built is the reason why they are iconic and more popular then some larger buildings.

Coal Office, King's Cross, London
The whole King's Cross area is undergoing a massive revitalization.
Nearby the Coal Office, the Coal Drops Yard (another Victorian-era brick industrial building) is being transformed by Thomas Heatherwick.
I'll post it on here when it's completed.
