That's awesome.

Also read that the state's working on a 20-year plan for St Leonard/Crows Nest... I wonder what it'll involve? Public facilities? A mall?

The momentum has definitely shifted from Chatswood to St Leonards.

They really need to work on pedestrian flow and enhancing the night time and weekend economy of the place - good to see this was highlighted in the report.

Recently went to Crows Nest and then to Chatswood. The foot traffic and overall 'life' is like night and day

Competing demand for land – The Precinct is a viable location for a full range of urban uses including
office, retail, institutional, industrial and residential. With the upcoming Sydney Metro Rail development,
most of these uses are likely to be in even higher demand. There is a risk that some uses may outbid
other uses, generating a ‘crowding-out’ effect which could result in the displacement of some of the
most economically productive businesses on the North Shore. As such, there is a need to restrict
residential development in the commercial core, or at least plan for it carefully while ensuring an
employment floorspace outcome.

A bit late for this. The government should just wrest planning controls away from the 3 councils because they have not kept to the master plan. The "mixed" developments in the area have decimated the business core, not enhanced it with too many new developments with vacant ground level commercial space. What is the use of all these new ground level shop spaces when you decimate the day time population of an area? What café, restaurant or service shop can survive on weekend trade alone?

Typical issues around developer not wanting to honour their obligations under the contract and attempting to rescind. Wanted to reach out to social media in hope of getting in contact with anyone else that's in the same position.

One more week left to get your input in. Personally I think their vision is still too limited.

69 Christie Street

Another tall tower for st Leonards is likely on this site.
This is right in the middle of 3 other major residential tower developments under way.

New St Leonards development site on the market for up to $70m
Oct 18 afr

Quote:
AMA House, the seven-level boutique office building in St Leonards in Sydney's lower north shore, is on the market for up to $70 million,
riding on the back of the recent $300 million sale of a neighbouring site, the future 4500sq m public square, "St Leonards Plaza".

Nearly all the private strata owners of the property have invoked the 75 per cent strata renewal laws to collectively sell the building at 69 Christie Street,
directly across the road from St Leonards Plaza (88 Christie),
as a mixed-use residential site.

The 5588sq m building on a 2326sq m site is leased to tenants including the Australian Medical Association.

Aside from St Leonards Plaza, it also nests among other new residential development including Mirvac's 500-unit St Leonard's Square
and New Hope Real Estate and VIC Investments Management Group's "The Landmark" tower on Pacific Highway.

"69 Christie Street will draw extensive interest from both local and offshore buyers due to its strategic positioning in an area," selling agent Knight Frank said.

That is one nice looking building. I wonder if it'll integrate with Friedlander place? Hopefully they will come up with a integrated design.
