I think a lot of you think NWHL is going to be finished like a Rolls Royce. It's a football stadium. It might be nicely designed and put together compared to others, but they're not going to have highly experienced craftsmen finely finishing things to milimeter perfection.

Speaking of the stadium's other possible uses, it looks like we have a date for the first concert at Wanda Metropolitano, and what a concert it'll be.

Does anybody has photos of the surrounding areas? Im curious if it still looks like a small desert is surrounding the stadium or its greener now.

On Google Maps there are a few panorama pictures. Most of them are from September and October, but they do show that most of the surroundings are concrete and asphalt parking lots. They barely post aerial pictures and I think that's because of those ugly surroundings. Hopefully it's a bit greener now, but in this season trees are not green and grass does not grow that fast.

In a few years the green will have developed itself. Give it time.

And the surrounding area will see some additional new construction I believe. So in 5 years or so the area surrounding the stadium could look quite different and nicer and denser.

With a bit of experience of the place now, what's the word from the Atleti fans? Do they like it? How's the atmosphere? Has the geographical move been ok? Does it feel like home yet?

Whilst its a grand stadium I think the atmosphere will suffer like Wembley.

The seats are too far away from the pitch. There is also no over hang on the stands, so the furthers seats are miles away.

Atletic will probably average about 50k. Almost 20k short of capacity.

you do not know what you're talking about because the stadium is very compact and the visibility is very good, the average attendance is 63,000 spectators (92% of the capacity). Atlético has 56.000 subscribers and 120.000 members

Pretty much. All these reasons that get bandied around here (lack of roof, distance from the pitch etc) never kept proper supporter sections to make great atmosphere. Sure, these aspects do help with lazier attendances, but they are not a sine qua non.

Now with half the season gone, how is attendance so far? Has there been a significant increase vs last year at Vicente Calderon? Has average prices increased?

I am in Spain early Jan to mid Feb, if you check the official club site with a view to buying tickets, there are incredibly few available, even for a humdrum game like the one v Las Palmas. For two people to sit together you are going to be paying mega bucks.
