“Batumi Tskali” Ltd has new equipment

Batumi City Hall has purchased five units of brand new equipment within the framework of the project for rehabilitation of water and sewerage systems in Batumi.

Sewerage and drainage pipes cleaning machines equipped with improved capabilities and modern technologies will enter into service today.

According to the representatives of “Batumi Tskali” Ltd the new equipment will assist them greatly to duly solving the problem during heavy rains.

Qatari Diar May Develop Resorts on Georgia’s Black Sea Coast

Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Co., part of the country’s sovereign wealth fund, will consider developing tourist resorts on Georgia’s Black Sea coast.

“We’re definitely interested in economic cooperation with Georgia,” Qatari Diar Deputy Chief Executive Officer Hassan Alfadala said in an interview in Doha today. “We’re interested in developing resorts,” he said, adding that company officials will travel to Georgia in about a week.

Qatari Diar, founded in 2004, has about $30 billion of projects under way outside Qatar in more than 20 countries, according to a company presentation in Doha for Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and other officials.

Eka Sharashidze, Saakashvili’s chief of staff, said the Georgian government plans to show Qatari Diar a 300 hectare site at Gonio on the Black Sea coast for possible development, as well as other coastal projects that are already in the design phase and stalled projects in the capital Tbilisi.

Qatar to Invest $2 Billion in Georgia

During the meeting with Saakashvili, the agency representatives presented the projects they’ve already started elsewhere in the world.Members of the Georgian delegation say the Qataris are interested in real estate and tourism opportunities but want to see the country first-hand.
Only then will concrete proposals take shape.“Our main goal is to show the agency representatives a complete picture of what the situation in Georgia is like and start the first phase of cooperation. They make decisions fast and probably concrete projects with Qatari investments will be negotiated by the end of the year,” said Economic Development Minister Zurab Pololikashvili.
Ekaterine Sharashidze, chief of the presidential administration, says the gulf states like Qatar have been relatively insulted by the global financial crisis and are looking for stable investment.“We do our best to attract additional investments to Georgia,” she said. She added that Qatar may be interested in energy and agriculture opportunities and is one of the largest producers of natural gas.Georgia is expecting as much as a 2b USD investment from Qatar.

Dairy Group, the largest real estate agency in Qatar, is reportedly interested in investing in Georgia. Investors from the tiny Arab gulf state will arrive in a week and visit Tbilisi, Adjara and Samegrelo.
Qatari businessmen will pay a visit to Batumi, Anaklia and Senaki where they’ll see first-hand lands which could be the site of future tourism investment. Qatari real estate giant Dairy Group is reportedly interested in investing in tourism and is expecting attractive project proposals from Georgia. President Mikheil Saakashvili and his advisers have already held meetings with potential investors during a recent trip to Qatar.

President opened construction of new building in Adjara

Georgian president opened the beginning of a new construction in Batumi today. The project was prepared by an Italian architect, and the construction will be finished in a year.
The House of Justice in Batumi will include other regional office of civil register, public register and the executive bureau, the regional branch of justice department and prosecutor`s office of Adjara.
The building will be equipped in accordance with modern standards, computers, office inventory, intranet and internet.

A newly constructed building of Service Agency of the Ministry of Interior was opened by Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili in Batumi.
The Service Agency will perform the following services: register transport vehicles and firearms, also issue driving licenses, vehicles mortgaging guaranty and references on criminal record.
‘The Agency is working very operatively. Everybody smiles and nobody demands bribes here. We, Georgians, got used to it’, the President stated.
