agree, would encourage people to chip in some $$...

it's prolly one of these, but hopefully a design that allows seating in tha open air...

I thought most govt projects had 100 year 'life'

What is a residential house now 20 years?

Didn't realise the pavers are so thick - are they meant to last 100 years?[QUOTE]

I thought Chevron were going to hand their block back possibly?

Mr J.H.D. DAY: Those two lots are under option to Brookfield. Brookfield needs to make a final decision as to whether it will go ahead, but it has an option over those two lots.

Ms R. SAFFIOTI: What is the timing of that decision; when does the minister expect a decision to be made on blocks 5 and 6?

Mr K. Kinsella: We expect Brookfield will make a decision by October 2016. We are allowing Brookfield to seek tenants to get those towers away. Two towers are to be built on the podium. We will secure an option fee from Brookfield. At the same time, we have asked Brookfield to engage in an international-based architectural design response so that we get the best design for those buildings. It is taking 10 to 12 months to make that happen.

There is plenty of Labor commentators politicising it when the ALP Arena tennis court cost $850 million

According to some C grade hack journalist in the West Australian. They're still within their time frame for a finalised design by the end of 2015 with a decision to be made afterwards.

I've also heard that there are some prospective tenants for another commercial tower move. Maybe a large multinational miner.

Deets:

Bridge span under construction.

Crazy paving going down on the upper and lower levels and the boardwalk framing being assembled. Dimensions of Geoffrey Bolton Ave now evident.

Paving largely complete and boardwalk framing in place on the eastern promenade. Increasing the footprint of the kiosk has left a pretty pitiful amount of public space at the water's edge.

Shoreline riprap being laid down around the edge of the island.

John Day sent a letter correcting the stupid letter to the Editor saying the Govt's part of the Quay is $440m with around half of that coming back from land sales. He mentioned the $2.6b includes private money, so the Govt won't be making interest payments on that figure.

Interesting to see the NearMap pic doesn't have the groundwater in it. Every time I have looked and the pics on here show water in it.

Shadows are good. No need for sun and the risk of skin cancer.

Should be more shadows all over Perth.

I am amazed at the size of the inlet when I looked at it. The inlet is now finally filling up with water so the vision is becoming a reality.

Yes, you are so smart Alec.

All our roads should be covered as well - keep out the sun and rain too. MM
