Discussion noted that Buluan was near the capitals of North Cotabato (Kidapawan City), Sultan Kudarat (Pagalungan), and South Cotabato (Koronadal City) which, together with Maguindanao, used to comprise the original province of Cotabato that was divided into four separate provinces by then President Marcos on Sept. 21, 1972 through Presidential Decree 1081.
maybe its for the better. well, lets see if it'll work.

Toto Mangudadatu is from Buluan. This might be a good explanation why Buluan was chosen as the capital despite its distance to the majority of the towns of Maguindanao.

correction: the capital of Sultan Kudarat is Municipality of Isulan not Pagalungan. But I am confident that the real reason was because of the Governor. However, it has the advantage because it is much closer to Capital Towns and now been so productive. Moreover far from War Affected areas.

How is Buluan? Prior to being designated as the capital, what is its economic or political significance in Maguindanao?

Since the peace talks started and the new governor, there was a big change in business climate in the province. Recently, there were already investments on Agriculture such as Cavendish Banana and Oil Palm. Most of these are foreign business namely Del Monte, Univex, and Malaysian Firms. In terms of social activities, it was first time in history that the provincial governor organized series of activities in its foundation anniversary they call it "Sagayan Festival". However, we could expect that mile distant municipalities are less attention and also the political rivalry will still be there.

So, that justifies the movement of the capital from Shariff Aguak to Buluan?

if that's their reason, no questions about it. the governor wants progress so why not.

I believe it is safe. The people are already familiar with their neighborhood. So, they know who are visitors. They are really welcoming guests. However, just choose trusted people.

I see.

Distance lang jud diay ang iyang problema. Its in the tip of Maguindanao, and for the residents coming from the west, transacting with the Provincial Government will be very hard not to mention the cost of building new offices.

Yup, actually from start of the Governors Term, no permanent building were built. They are having office on temporary numbered house-like structures. Regarding transportation, since before, the LGU already has an Official Bus routing from Cotabato City where most employee are living.

Now, Old Capitol Building in Shariff Aguak was given to Philippine Army Camp.

while the Old Capitol Building in Sultan Kudarat was recently converted into a School.
