Talking Lets change the current borders of any states :) !

Anyways, If you can change any borders of any state, where would you change it and why.

Probably I think many people from Indiana would change their borders to include Chicago, Louisville, and Cincy into their states, lol.

If I have a chance to change the borders of a state, I would change Illinois. Make Illinois give Wisconsin Chicago. Chicago fits in which Wisconsin better than downstate Illinois.

However, you can't do this, like isolate a city from the rest of the state, like for NYS, you cant include Boston, because Boston isnt connected with the rest of NYS.

Another one= how about make Missouri lose Kansas City to Kansas and St. Louis to Illinois, lol I am so evil(just an example).

I would like Maine to be join back to Massachusetts even if they are not connected. As many should know, Maine was supposed to be part of Massachusetts until the Civil War when it was divided up so that there will be an equal amount of Slave States and Free States. Course that didn't work out later.

I know my fellow Michiganders are gonna hate me for this...But I'd probably give up the Upper Peninsula to Wisconsin. I never realized why it wasn't apart of Wisconsin in the first place...oh, well.

Alabama should be divided between Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida. Northern Alabama (Huntsville area) would go to TN, central AL goes to GA, and south AL (Mobile and Baldwin counties) go to FL. I doubt that many Alabamians would go for annexation into Mississippi, so I left them out (sorry).

I wouldn't mind California being slpit up between north and south. There was an actual debate sometime ago about this. The north was tired of paying for the south so what was the solution? Seperation, like half of all married couples!

Either that or we could just give San Fransisco its own state, as well as LA. Better yet we should split the state on a east-west axis, but leave San Diego as the connection for the eastern side to the Pacific. Ahh a dream come true...

What a great thread, this is too much fun.

Without a doubt south Nj should be part of PA. I guess you could say the same for north NJ being part of NY.

Give Maryland the little spit of land on the east side of the Chesapeake Bay that belongs to Virginia yet is unconnected by land.

I don't want to make any texas haters suffer so I would either leave it the same or form it just to surround Houston, Galveston, South Padre Island, Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas-Fort Worth.

Please, PLEASE, split Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Monroe, maybe Brevard, and a few other counties from the rest of florida to create the new state South Florida. PLEASE!!!!!
There actually is a growing movement to do this in reality, which is prompting even more oppression from the North Florida rednecks who have a disproportionately large representation in Florida's state houses of congress.

I'd lake to see Michigan's original southern border reinstated so we can get back Toledo. Hell, let's extend it all the way across through Indiana so we get get South Bend as well!

I'd like for New Hampshire to take back what is rightly theirs, the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. For those unfamiliar, the PNS is on an island across the Piscataqua River, which seperates Kittery, ME with Portsmouth, NH and feeds into the Atlantic Ocean. The original maps had PNS as part of NH, but Maine claimed it was theirs. In the 70's the Supreme Court ruled it was Maine's, and they reaped all the benefits of the Naval Shipyard, in 2000, New Hampshire tried and failed again to reclaim the shipyard. Now there is more evidence that NH is the true owner of that land and are trying to take it back.

Of course Rumsfeld just put Portsmouth Naval Shipyard on its list of bases to be shut down in the near future, so it would only be a matter of pride at this point.

It makes sense that UP goes to Wisconsin. How did Michigan get that part anyway? I agree with splitting up NJ for NY and PA. When Florida was still Spanish, wasn't there Florida West and East? That's similar to the state of South Florida, isn't it?

If Louisville was in Indiana I would say it would have 1 million+ more people in it because Indiana has a better Gov't and Kentucky often makes bad decicions. So I would make Bullitt, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, Henry, Trimble, Nelson, Meade, Hardin, and Spencer counties all part of Indiana.

Actually, the eastern portion of the UP has always been a part of Michigan. The old border was basically a line that ran through the middle of Lake Michigan on up into the UP.

Give the twin cities to Wisconsin.

Heck, give everything to the cheese state, lol.

Could someone make a map of everyone's idea?
