The Pullman signs have been erected front and back over the last week or so. Looking at their website, there seems to be a good selection of bars and restaurants.

New road in JLT takes its toll

This evening at rush hour, a pedestrian was hit by a car and killed while crossing the road before Mazaya towers.

Not even an ambulance arrived at the scene. Just the police, who after a quick glance decided that the person is dead, and covered it with a blanket. While I'm typing this, te body is still there and the cars honking because they cannot pass fast enough.

It happened on the new connecting road between The Lakes and Jumeirah Park. Cars drive at a crazy speed, while workers from JLT have to cross to be picked up by their company transport before Mazaya.
There is no pedestrian crossing, no traffic lights, no speed cameras. Nothing.

When, in heaven's sake, will Dubai start to work on road safety and stop the culture of speeding, instead of routinely blaming drivers after it is too late?

Next to the police car on the right, the covered body of a pedestrian that was just hit by a car.
Dubai. Physically in the 21st century, but mentally in the middle ages.

It was a matter of time, accident waiting to happen you just know it. Why is that drivers in Dubai so crazy about speed.

Is it because new money = new toys = new bling bling.

This is today. Great news, albeit ages late, for the poor Al-Saqran Tower Cluster R owners and investors. This fiasco project is 5 years late but finally they started again today after a 6 months stoppage.

JLT Sewage Lake

Just recently I got a taxi ride by the new sewage lake in JLT.

I thought it might be a good place for a Shisha cafe and board walk.

After smelling the aroma of the lake I quickly re-considered ever taking a taxi through JLT.

I feel really bad for the owners in the area
