I like the new base now, but...

You can't help but think of all the effort put in to make the corners champhered, and the intricate engineering required, only to have it squared off. A square box would have been much easier to build as a base in the first place.

Second design pattern also makes it look more reminiscent of the original 1WTC.

some photos i took of the detailed model in the skyscraper museum at battery park. obviously the spire is out of date :- [ but otherwise you can get a good sense of how the rest of the roof is gonna look

I know... I feel it was very intricately designed, classy, and powerful. I thought it was "very New York;" But then again that is very subjective.
