Buffalo Bills to play 8 Games in Toronto

Yeah, I'm not a sports guy but I do realize there are a lot of gay sports leagues in Toronto. Actually I was thinking about hopping on a Go train to Hamilton and checking out the art gallery and other tourist attractions. I saw in the Ontario travel guide, that they have a few interesting attractions. I also want to see what they did with that HMCS navel ship, that used to be at Ontario Place.

I hope Toronto never gets an NFL team. CFL is part of our Canadian culture and identity, and I don't want to see it die. It's the National Football League for a reason, because it's America's National Football League. The CFL is Canada's. The Argos are a great team and they shouldn't have to compete with a big American corporate NFL franchise. There's better places for the NFL to expand.

Its almost resembles towns that are along Lake Ontario-Thousand Islands-St. Laurent River.... they had a boom (Brockville, Cornwall) and now they are dying slowly with not many opportunities and little growth.

I wouldnt say that all football fans are Bills fans in S. Ontario. People from the GTA should remember that Sarnia/Windsor area enjoys the comfort of having Detroit across the border and a great NFL franchise like the lions. But again, I think you can find many fans who follow other teams in Windsor/Sarnia area.

Heck, they even got a better hockey team than what Buffalo and Toronto have combined....

In truth, there are no Canadian cities which come close to the long decline of Buffalo. The only comparisons are a few of the fastest-declining US Rustbelt cities like Detroit, Cleveland, Toledo, Flint, Youngstown, etc.

It looks likely that the Bills will get a brand new 72,000 seat NFL stadium in Buffalo. If Green Bay/Wisconsin can support a team so can Buffalo/Western NY.

How is that even profitable, with how few games they play? Won't the stadium just site empty over 90% of the time? How do they make any money?
