It is wonderful to have mega stadium and roaring fans well informed about football.

But Kerala has failed miserably in the last decade in producing quality footballers, in spite of all other hoopla.

If you want to groom good footballers, what is needed is not all these fancies. Follow Manipur. Catch young talents at grass root level and train them scientifically. At a young age. For that, what you need are good practice grounds with green turf and good coaching centres.

That is where Manipur succeeded. They do not have any mega stadium where an international match can be played. Their population is not even one tenth of Kerala. Still see the Indian foot ball team for under 17 world cup. Eight players in Indian team are from Manipur, including the captain. Imagine! Eight players, where a team plays with eleven players and contains at the most twenty two players in the team.

I have no doubt Manipur, not Kerala, is going to be the future power house of Indian football. No doubt about it. Kerala can be satisfied with one player at the most in an Indian team. Until we replicate Manipur and stop bragging about the fans and stadiums.

India Played exceedingly well against Colombia (a top-class Latin American Football Powerhouse) in 2017 U-17 WC. A 1-2 defeat against Colombia is a big achievement (in the old standard we used to be defeated by 0-5 to 0-11). I have really great hope for these youngsters. This team can beat any Asian Teams (including Japan, South Korea, Australia, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iran, China or North Korea) as Colombia is far ahead in footballing skills than these Asian teams.

If India's match would be in Kochi, Goa or Kolkota, traditional footballing hubs in India, India could win with the support of our fans. Ground support is also a crucial factor.

It was a foolish decision to select Delhi as the Host City for India's matches rather than Kochi or Kolkota.

Delhi stadium did get good crowd, as per this report.

Delhi lacks Football Culture and the people there are more interested in cricket. They don't have passion for football. The only North Indian state where you can see some passion for football is Punjab. They have an additional advantage - Better Physique.

You can see better crowds in traditional footballing hubs like Kochi (Kerala), Kolkata, or Goa. You can even see, football crazy youths from Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, Thrissur, or Pathanamthitta travelling to Kochi to watch this World Cup.

Even I personally feel Malappuram or Thrissur are better place if we consider crowd. May be Kochi's advantage is better infrastructure. If one match will be in Malappuram, I think stadium will be over-crowded.

If India's match would be in Kochi, the crowd would cross 50,000.

How? As per FIFA, Kochi is allowed only a max of 29K people, right? And that was decided based on existing facilities there, isn't it? Kochi is finding it difficult to fill gallery as per the ToI news report. Delhi had good crowd for both the India matches. Kolkata is drawing good crowd though they also are not hosting India matches

But according to FIFA site all tickets are sold out for matches in Cochin and its mentioned in that report too... so where are the people who bought the tickets?
There are people still coming front of stadium in search of tickets, but they get reply sold out..
As per other news reports one reason is that many of them bought where selling in black for big amount which they were caught during first match itself and another reason many tickets are given away as complimentary tickets.etc..

Indian Football Team qualified for 2019 Asian Cup. But our Cricket-Crazy Nation and Media are not aware of this.

India defeated Macau by 4-1 to qualify to the final tournament.

India won 4 games out of 4 (100% Winning). Now the remaining two matches are inconsequential (against Myanmar and Kyrgizstan), but will surely help India to improve its FIFA Ranking.

This is India's fourth qualification after 1964, 1984 and 2011. India were Runners-Up in 1964.

A large number of tickets were bought by black marketeers who were busted on the inaugural day itself. Those tickets are being re-sold officially now. And yes, there are plenty of complimentary tickets available.

I would think the average soccer fan out there would not be as enthusiastic when it comes to watching a Niger or Costa Rica on the field in comparison to a Spain or Brazil and of course the local team Kerala Blasters.

If there is a Kerala Blasters game with thin crowds, then there is surely something to be concerned about out there...

Could be one of the reasons. But there are other factors as well. I have bought season tickets for family in June itself. But I could attend only Brazil vs Spain match due to official commitments and hectic travel.

Please don't discuss anything about about Kochi negative or positive even it is FIFA. Except Kochi forumers almost every one here is waiting for negative news and opportunity to bash Kochi.
