'Thrissur', is now ready to welcome a pool of IT professionals from across the globe. Well, when the state and country is busy with thousand buzzes, the cultural capital of Kerala is completely withdrawn from the normalcy as it witnessed a grand opening its second phase.
#Thrissur is in the tip of a rising tide, the wave of an IT upsurge. The new phase of Infopark #Thrissur, Indeevaram (the blue lotus) is inaugurated today by Chief Minister Shri. Oommen Chandy. This will open a wide arena of IT opportunities in #Thrissur.

Accenture, CapGemini and Oracle are three big names which are actively looking for space in TP... The news is around since a while of these names making presence in TVM. However, AFAIK, Oracle has a small presence in TP, but not the other two as yet..!

Oracle have a good head count in Technopark Leela building. They have a future expansion plan of around 1000 additional people in their Trivandrum facility. One thing last i heard is they are planning to shift from Technopark to Taurus Downtown, once it is completed. Regarding accenture, they have nearly 100 people working in TP. No idea about Capgemini.

New facility to add 300 jobs at Technopark

Thiruvananthapuram: Navigant India, a subsidiary of Navigant Consulting based in Chicago, USA has announced the addition of its latest facility in Phase III of Technopark. With the opening of its new facility around 300 positions are expected to be added to its existing workforce in Thiruvananthapuram.
Navigant India, which currently operates over 3 offices in Technopark, has been recently awarded the ISO 27001:2013 certification. The company provides back-end healthcare coding and consulting for hospitals situated in European and North American countries.
"The easy availability of educated and affordable workforce has made us choose Kerala from other states for our expansion plans," said Navigant India country head Mahendra Rawat.

Kerala likely to have 500,000 IT jobs by 2020
Quote:
State likely to see a growth in tech companies across three IT hubs

Kerala was the early bird in India’s information technology revolution, setting up the country’s first IT park in the early 1990s in the state capital.

However, the criticism since then has been that the rest of the country changed gears and overtook the state, while Kerala remained a marginal player. While metro cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai and even tier-two cities such as Bhubaneswar and Pune hit it big in IT, Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi have mostly been playing catch up.

That situation may be poised to change, with the state likely to see a growth in tech companies across the three IT hubs that it has, namely the Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram, the Infopark in Kochi and the Cyberpark in Kozhikode, all established by the state government.

According to Infopark CEO, Hrishikesh Nair, the three parks together are likely to account for as many as 500,000 IT sector employees by 2020.

One of the reasons for the robust growth is the emergence of Kochi as a major IT hub, where the Infopark boasts of 25,000 staff across more than 120 companies. The park has now established two smaller ‘spokes’, at Cherthala and Koratty. Among the companies at Infopark is Dubai-based Almotahida Education Systems.

Nair feels that the growth in Kochi is set to gather steam in the near future because of the realisation of the Kochi Metro, as well as the federal government choosing the city as one of the 20 ‘Smart Cities’ across the country. He sees the Infopark alone having 75,000 employees over the next three years.

I am not sure for all those imaginary IT job figures being mentioned !!
4L additional IT jobs will mean atleast c.40mn sq. ft. of IT built up space to be operational by 2020 !! (and total of 50mn sq. ft).

Do we have the case of announced projects worth this much???

And, the article further states, Infopark alone is 75,000 jobs (total) by 2019. So where are the remaining c.4L+ new jobs popping up from ???

Yet, creating built up space is one side of the story and filling them up another story altogether!

Yes, TVM on course for some surprise BJP victories in the coming Assembly election during April end/May first week.

BJP is so confident and they have already announced candidates for the following constituencies today:

Nemom - Kummanam Rajashekharan
TVM Central - O Rajagopal
Kazhakootam - Muraleedharan

It seems BJP can easily win 5 out of the 12 assembly seats in TVM. Both LDF and UDF have to unite together to make any challenge.

Yes...if Modi who was a tea vendor can become PM of India, a panchayath election contestant can become an MLA as well.

Believe it or not, this is the first chance for OR to become an MLA and probably he may have 5 to 6 colleagues in company in next Kerala Assembly.

Now BJP is silent about vattiyoorkav( old Tvm east), which has been a strong fort of BJP/Hindumunnai since 1984.
Total 14 assembly constituencies in Tvm.
They can't beat k. muraleedharan, hence they live it.
In Tvm, it's V S Sivakumar,so they put OR to gain a 2nd position. If OR contested as an indipendent candidate , he may get victory.
In Nemom - cross voting between UDF, LDF - again kummanam 2nd Position.
Again kazhakootam , its sure M A Vahid( he won thre in 2001 as an independent candidate)
Altogether BJP get 0 seats out of 140.
