What is this City-Spinning Mill-Thazhe Chovva bypass road? To make it happen they need a new bridge, another 10 years?

New bridge is required anyway even for this bypass. So no solution for traffic issues in the near future.

That road also needs a bridge. It is not to bypass bridge but to bypass two railway gates while going to city side. There is an underbridge in Kizhuthalli in Chala bypass. So no need to cross any railway gates.

But the bridge mentioned in the news is the new bridge in NH itself. Estimate is 3.5 crores. There is no other solution for the old bridge other than a new bridge.

I do not know how this bypass will help reducing traffic at Thezhukkile peedika junction. Current options to bypass two railway gates are

1) Thayyil-JTS road (need to take left turn at kuruva bridge and join SN college road via Averapparambu)
2)Uruvachal-Avera-Averapparambu-SN College Road
3)Uruvachal-Avera-Avera Bandu Palam-Chovva rly gate road (few hundred meters are pending in this)
4) New bridge at Avera Band Palam is long pending

Currently a lot vehicles take left turn from Thezhukkila peedika junction. Earlier that road was just used only for vehicles going to Thayyil area but now as the road has been upgraded a lot of private vehicles prefer that road instead of going via NH upto caltex. So there is heavy traffic block in Thezhukkila peedika jn. Another problem is the railway gate near south railway station which still deter some people from choosing this road.

Also another set of people already use JTS Thayyil road for same purpose (but now that road is under construction). Also they still need to cross Nadal railway gate.

If the new bypass is built instead of going via JTS or Thezhukkila peedika all the private vehicles can use go via Chala bypass, then use Kizhuthalli under bridge and reach the same spinning mill - Thayyil road.

Best thing about this is road compared to all the roads you mentioned is
1) No need to cross nadal railway gate
2) No need to use zig zag road in Thottada. Chala bypass is way better.
3) Vehicles coming via SH-38 can also use this bypass.
4) From Spinning mill to Thayyil it is almost straight road. The new bypass also will be almost straight line.

Yes! this road is of all Opportunities! Why don't authorities couldn't find such a best alternative to bypass Thazhechovva.
Moreover, They need not want to demolish any buildings. and LA will be very easy.

Kuthuparamba ring road in 25 crores: Pookode-Purakkalam-Thokkilangadi-Mooryad-Pookode. Govt should consider similar ring roads in other towns also.

Though this is good news I fear this will delay upgradation of Kannur Mattannur road for airport. Once NH is notified state govt cannot do any construction without their permission.

Retarring of kannur NH17 in progress. Capitol Mall (Thana) to Koyili Hospital completed (First layer). Koyili to Women's college (Pallikkunnnu) one side completed as of now(one layer)

NH was already in good condition thanks to low rainfall. Don't know why they are retarring.

the roads were in pretty bad condition, if you factor in the stupidity displayed while laying the water pipelines. Hopefully, that wont be the case this time around.
