Exactly! Think of all the negative press he would get if he were to actually move to Jakarta, to me, it has always been, and always will be, a mere publicity stunt.

tullamarine I don't think EY (or EK for that matter) will do a bacon sandwich at any price!!! QF customers on SYD/MEL-LHR lost bacon from the breakfast menu following the EK alliance.

BaconButty I finally understand the true horrors of globalization.

Remember that the planned move was in 2012 after the share swap with MAS collapsed.

Aireen Omar was brougth up to run the 'Malaysia branch' of Air Asia HQ.which should be in Indonesia from which TF sill grow the airline.

With Fernandes moving to Indonesia the airline will announce on Monday a replacement to head its Malaysia operations.

It was serious enough that the plan to move to indonesia reverbrated in the international meda,

Here is some residue of the plan from some random site.

Indonesia

His comments appear two days after AirAsia announced it is setting up a strategic planning centre in Indonesia, away from its Malaysian headquarters, with Fernandes expected to lead expansion of regional operations from there.

The plan of course never took off and TF moved back quietly to Malaysia and probaly start the KLIA2 hullabaloo with MAHB to keep people from asking .

Or did the KLIA2 plan tailored to Air Asia requirements killed the Indonesian move?

Yeah! no sign of wood, marble or granite, it would be nice to have some of those natural elements to reduce the artificial look

I guess it's indeed a 'low cost' terminal.

I wonder why are we being so pessimistic about this. This is still not so bad for a low cost terminal and it is a huge improvement if you were to compare to LCCT
