Gujarat CM Modi has been more than humble than any normal person would be capable of when describing India. Although it doesn't suit Indian interests, the St Stephens, St Xaviers/St Anne'a agenda. Gujarati people, (especially from Saurashtra) have seen both Karachi and Bombay fall into the hands of popuilist leaders who have as much economic insight as the average Saurashtrian 6yr old. Many Gujaratis complain about the "Ghati" (rural Maharastrian) influence on Bombay politics. Truth is, by rejecting the extreme right wing (RSS/VHP/Shiv Sena/VHP) the middle class, whether Gujarati, Marwadi, Parsi, Jain etc can assert their authority without offending the unbelievably insecure Marathi nationalist SS/MNS. Gujaratis are the only "Indian" subdivision who are prepared to bypass Bombay to determine their wealth etc |

And in all the states Political leaders are from rural areas. So Maharashtra is not an exception here. And the city name is Mumbai not Bombay -try to speak our names and not the name given by the killers of the local people (portuguese). |

Let others decide what they wanna call what! I prefer Mumbai over Bombay (cuz Bombay sounds intimidating) but I prefer Calcutta over Kolkata and Madras over Chennai.
Lets move on and not make things personal.

PlastIndia Exhibition to move to Gujarat
Switching the discussion.....
I can't recollect when exactly, but I remember around 2-3 months ago, there was a discussion about an exhibition center to be constructed in GIFT. Somebody had written that his sources are saying that next edition of some exhibition will be moved from somepart of India to Gujarat in GIFT city... However, I came across this article today, which is actually a bad news now.. The exhibition that I am referring above is of PlastIndia exhibition and the article says that they are moving in Mahatama Mandir and not GIFT City... I am happy for them to move to Gujarat, but even feeling sad that it is not in GIFT city...Quote:

I came across the designs for the Multi Level Parking Complex (MLP 2) for GIFT...Sorry I cant share the source.
The location: Its right next to the Q Towers ![]() The complex comprises of 3 structures: 2 MLPs of 12 storeys each and a commercial tower of around 20-22 storeys... ![]() The Vitth Metro Station is located just opposite to the MLP. The Q Block is just left to the MLP. ![]() Also the MLP blocks will be built in phases with 3-4 floors by 2014 end and all 12 floors by 2020 (as and when the required traffic volume increases) |

Holy shit, that's one massive ML Car Park. 12 floors is a lot, but I do wish they built it all in one go.

MLP Site II Location
Hi Rushabh,
Excellent find. Congrats. It looks amazing together with the metro station. I am sure, the construction for this MLP II must be on presently. And who knows they may be building metro station also together with MLP II in this phase-I itself. I am more than thrilled. Keep the good work and good finds on. |

No! Building MLP in phases is a best choice. As Rushabh said, 3-4 floors will be completed by 2014 and will be functioning. As the more towers comes up and more people start moving in GIFT, MLP can be expanded vertically. GIFT is expected to completely functioning by 2020-2022. And this is not the only MLP in GIFT. AFAIK there are 5-6 such MLP buildings are planned in GIFT. And I think all of them will be giant like MLP II and will come up in phases.

Don't get me wrong. Even I don't like slow construction works. I was just telling the truth.

If we assume 10 people per office, 4 offices per floor, 30 floors per tower, then the present two towers can accomodate around 2000-2500 people at full capacity.
Assuming that around 1/3 or 1/2 of them will bring cars and the rest of them 2 wheelers until public transport reaches there, we can assume around 600-800 cars and 1500 2-wheelers. So I think the combined parking spaces of the basements of the Q towers, the spaces behind the 2 towers (See below pic) and 3 floors of the MLP block 1 will more than suffice for the moment. Space behind the towers: Quote:
