They are extremely helpful on Toronto-Pakistan routes, either PIA should sell them and replace them with 787-9 or get one more, 2 aren't doing enough for PIA.

The pathetic thing is they only opened the terminal a few years back and they can barely handle a few flights...what a waste of money and time. If someone is going to build something, build it properly and large enough so it can accommodate!

I'm not sure about Karachi, but it seems like it can handle many flights. It's always been the main gateway to the country so I assume they have adequate and experienced staff...plus it's PIA's hub anyway...but Lahore is a complete disaster...usually I can deal with lineups, but this one huge and people were pissed on top of it...

I saw this video on Youtube that showed exactly what you are talking about. I have seen the blueprints of Allama Iqbal, post depature of Nawaz 1999 (when the airport was under construction). Funds went from the pot and the airport was downsized extensively. Allama Iqbal was planned to be twice as big as it stands now. Sad really.

Can this flight not be operated by 777-200ER direct?

It can but none of PIA's 777-300ers and 200ers are fitted with cabin crew rest areas.

Toronto-Pakistan flights are non-stop, New York-Pakistan flights via Manchester both ways, I think.
