yes that was much needed but
the traffic would remain jam at this place

the solution should be ending all u-turns from nipa to sohrab goth & underpass should be constructed at gulshan chorangi

rickshaw parking should also be banned on any road (the lucky one has become only mall in the world with too many rickshaws outside)

I agree, chase, imtiaz, luckyone, farya mall they think the road is their property. not a single vehicle parking they have (except luckone). occupying 2 tracks on a 4 track road. And that is charged parking...

This is what I was going to say. They should atleast remove gulshan chowrangi u turn ASAP. This major source of traffic jam on both side of road as it was placed by Mustafa kamal to give benefit to select few. Except for few all the u-turn developed during his time were flawed. Four lane roads turns into three lane immediately before u-turn and exit is more than two lanes wide instead of one lane. Same mistake was repeated on university road u-turn from nipa to hasan square.

And raksha outside lucky one were expected. The mall location makes access easier for people who don't own vehicles as compared to dolmen mall. Now its traffic police responsibility to challan them. They take 50-100 rupees per raksha daily and allow them. Although they do get share from chalan but if they chalan them that will prevent them from parking and will stop a confirmed (illegal) revenue stream. Parking on every road should be prohibited. See university road one and half road is always occupied causing traffic jams.

Where you want the underpass to be? Waisay I don't believe in u-turn from right lane. Instead they should make overpass or underpass for u-turn from left most lane.

at gulshan chorangi , like we have at nazimabad or liaqautabad right at the intersection

& that underpass would automatically make u-turns from left to left lanes

It won't solve the problem at all. Liaquatabad is always choked. It always takes 5 minutes to pass that in normal traffic conditions. Parking on road needs to cleared first.

I say dismantle the both the bridges on rashid minhas road over nipa and make two big bridges of atleast four lane each. And connect both bridges for u-turn of two lanes each which are separated by sufficient space. Just like the Azadi interchange in Lahore. Also give access to university road through overlapping bridges of two lanes.

It may cost around 2 to 3 billion and 6 months of discomfort but it will be worth it. Remove all the u-turn from rashid minhas except for at johar mor, nipa and sohrab goth.

Every road is repairing but they are not repairing Liaquatabad road, jhangir road and hasan square road patches which cause hectic daily traffic.

Liaquatabad & gulshan chowrangi are two different places , there isn't that much flow of traffic from disco bakery & 13-D . like shahrah e Pakistan which always remain full with trailers truck & buses

May be. But its the wrong sider who create lot of bottlenecks here or illegal parking of bikes and cars.
In reality instead of spending on underpasses and flyover, the money should be spent on training the traffic police and bringing the discipline to traffic by implementing rules. But chances of that happening are more remote than the construction of underpass or flyover.

that only happens when you have will to do good for your province , on the other hand you are changing IG's to save corruption of your party. but have done nothing for the betterment of police.

we can find more culprits in Punjab Police but no doubt their police (specially traffic) is way way & way better than us also that KPK police has also improved a lot.

What you mean by you? I have nothing to do with this govt.
And you are right. Even if they don't change IGs too often the system is flawed. You can't improve traffic by bringing career policeman as DIG traffic. I bet DIG traffic doesn't even know much about traffic rules. DIG traffic has to be someone who has some kind of training in traffic management.
