I've seen some photos showing trams entirely in the reservations eg on the East Lancs (where express trams to the Kirkby ordanance works could apparently hit 70.mph!), Bowring Park rd, East P Prescott Rd, and others showing them on the road alongside central reservations (eg on Princes Road, although it was laid out long before segregated tram lines were dreamed up). I assume that, even if utilities have been laid under parts of the reservations, their width will make it easier to avoid or re-site any buried utilities.

I think MerseyTram finished the LCCs thirst for a tram system.

A few years ago Merseytravel released a 30 year strategy with a list of new stations such as Carr Mill, and Town Meadow - does anyone know whether these have been progressed and where you can find updated priorities ?

Carr Mill was put on hold while the line through St Helens was electrified. It might pop up again once Maghull North is finished (you can only build one new station at a time, apparently).

Town Meadow has a marginal business case; there's demand but not quite enough demand. It usually only gets attention around election time.
