Hi Johnny, this seems to be the site office of PJA located right at the entrance of the island. I got overly excited thinking Bing maps were more up to date and made a comparison to Google Maps 2012. But after some research on other parts of the map (Standpoint in Downtown to be specific) I found out that Bing Maps imagery is from somewhere around 2009. But I'm still optimistic about the project being restarted and hopeful for updated satellite images to see if anything has changed!

We all live in hope for that conclusion. Been back twice this year and must say optimism is everywhere. Just need someone just To come out and tell us what will happen, even if it is a few years away so we can all get on with our lives and act accordingly. I have a garden home and a water home on PJA . If they had built when they had promised I would have property worth in excess of £3 million and would have recieved approx 800 k of rent by now. Not a lot too ask to just promise they will build them at some time in the future so we can sell them on the open market at a considerable premium to what we have paid for them. We will still be financially worse off but feel a lot better about it. |

It seems this outpost was in place up to the end of 2011 and then disappeared altogether which seems odd. The upshot of the Google historical imagery would indicate that activity up to a year ago on the island was very low. Having said that my guess is that Nakheel will now have very few takers for their credit notes on this project. |

It is a no brainar to know that PJA will be built in future and when that happens the prices would be at least three times over what you paid in 2004-5. The question is how far or near is the future. |

Hello
Hello All,
I haven't been on this site in years or in Dubai for that matter. I was the first person on this forum to inform everyone of Nakheel's troubles back in late 2008/early 2009. Back then nobody believed me, except for Richard Head. In fact I was ridiculed and mocked by a lot of people. I built the Trunk-Spine Bridge that you guys have recently been talking about. (I'm in construction management field) That was probably the only completed piece of infrastructure on PJA. It pains me to see this "Bridge to Nowhere" (Sarah Palin, anyone? LOL). I started the Water Homes project but it was terminated soon after. I left Dubai in March 2009 and I'm back in the US and haven't looked back. I'm so glad I did, even though I do miss it from time to time.

Happy to hear from you again. Firstly I do not understand why the number of your posts is stuck at 50 while the actual number of your posts are far greater than that. Secondly I am so sorry that I did not believe you at the time and was joking with you about pink notice. You were directly involved in Palm Jebel ali and could see things which were happening but we were bunch of hopeful investors ( still are) who only wanted to hear good news. I wish you the best of luck but very much hope you will continue to contribute to this forum. We reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally need you. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Welcome back Soup. Just had a scan back through some of our posts from early 2009, around page 78 of this thread and the next few pages. Very interesting to see back then how spot on you were and how many people were still in denial.

Let's pray that Dubai wins the Expo in November. I am sure it will be good news for PJA.
