DARWIN - #Proposed: 13 Daly Street - 17st / 60m~ / mixed use

Another big one for the growing Daly St cluster! Looks great!

Same height as the current second tallest building in Darwin so it's certainly not short.

Plans

EDIT: Just realised Holy Frog already posted about this in another thread. It definitely deserves it's own thread though.

On the base of the tower it has ORION written in there. Is that building with those indented podiums and roof top parkland called Orion?

Looks like a good design. Pretty good for the tropics and Northern Australia.

Impressive!! Darwin is really motoring along with these high rise apartments. Hobart has a lot of catching up to do but the focus now seems to be on hotels!

I like it. The vegetation is what elevates it from okay to really interesting, so hopefully they can pull that off. Then of course the challenge will be to maintain it long term. Must be a pain in the arse when part of your facade is likely to die. And some more vertical gardens for Darwin (after the one proposed for 15-17 Knuckey Street. Those vertical gardens...they're so hot right now.

I'd imagine that they would be fairly easy to keep manage of since they are usually made up of plants that need pretty much no attention other than watering.

Eastern, I notice most of the renders you posted in this thread have been deleted. We've had problems with ImageShack deleting thousands of photos used on this site and replacing them with that ad for RainApp, but usually only ones that are years old. For a free image host, that is kinda understandable. But to be deleting images because they've "expired" after only 12 days. Seriously, **** ImageShack. Do you still have the renders handy, to be reuploaded to this thread? I would suggest Imgur.

I actually pay for my Imageshack account but the images in this thread are still showing perfectly fine for me? Are they still ads for you?

Of the five images you posted, 3 and 5 are visible, while 1, 2 and 4 are the "This ImageShack image has expired" thing with RainApp advertising. I was going to reply earlier today, but seems like much of ImageShack was down for several hours.

They had problems with their servers apparently, some of my images have started reappearing for me, they should all be back within 24 hours. I guess that was my 1% of downtime for the service...

A planning notice has been lodged for a scaled down version of the original design. It is now 17 levels and is wearing QUEST signage in the new renders.

I guess this is the result of the downturn in the economy or down fall with market demand?
