Amsterdams station is over 100 years old, so it isn't under construction, it is under renovation! The only visible new thing added is the busstation at the left side of the 1st picture.

Arnheim:

This will be the 4th station built at this location (1844, 1867, 1954). Demolition on the site started in 1997, completion due in 2013. More on this NL website on railways and stations: http://stationsweb.brinkster.net/afb...=arnhem&num=63

Deutsche Bahn is currently renovating and rebuilding lots of train stations in Germany.

The hall of Kiel's train station have been completely rebuilt

and the actual building has been renovated

The hall and the pier of Lübeck's main station have been completely rebuilt. It will be officially inaugurated next year

Berlin Main Station, need to say more?

Stuttgart's main station will also practically be completely rebuilt

Agreed, Amsterdam Station shouldn't be on this list, nor should Kiel, it's a renovation (a nice one, but still the basic original building).

I guess this list should show either totally new stations, or older stations where the original building wasn't just renovated but torn down and replaced.

New opened in 2005:

The S-Bahnstation "Mellingen-Heitersberg" is around twenty minutes outside of the city-border and served by line 3 of the Zurich-S-Bahnnetwork. The station is build outside of the surrounding towns and connected to them with busses.

The completely refurbished S-Bahnhof Opfikon in the north of Zurich opened also 2005:

Our town has actually done something right for once and St. Helens has a brand new train station. It's only just opened, and isn't fully complete, only small but I think it's pretty damn smart. I shall get some pics on Thursday, just to show my little town off....(it's a shithole).

The new main station of Vienna. Pre-Construction works already started and it is expected to be finished in 2012 -2015.

Around it an entire new district will be erected.

In red a business, shopping, service district will be erected (red), directly to the south a new residential district (blue/violet) with school facilities in its center as well as a large park area. To the east an industrial area will be attached. (Grey blocks already exist today)

Another project where construction is just getting started is the railstation "Wien Mitte" (Central Vienna). Its a below surface station directly next to the first district, especially of importance for the cities S-Bahn network and the end station of the city-airport train.

I am not especially happy with the facade design. But its still a major improvement to the status quo there which is pretty terrible.

Wien Nordbahnhof (north station). This station is going t be finished within the next months. Not really spectacular either, principally a glas box. But at least a nice looking one. The square in front of it with those many tram connections (on the picture behind the station) will be redesigned in a year or so. The station when it will be finished soon will also host two instead of one subway line.

This picture shows how the square is going to be redesigned.

Wien Westbahnhof (west station). That project is still in planning. It will be also connected to the creation of an entire new district around it. Construction might start in a few years.

Ok, to be honest I consider that plan to look outright ugly. I hope they are still going to modify it at least a bit.

There are other railwaystations in Vienna going on as well, but there its more into the direction of renovation plus adaption. Its however hard to draw the line as for example the station Meidling has been pretty scrapped and rebuilt new...
