CHAN should be easier logistically, as long as they can use Kasarani as the athletes village once again. It is easier, safe and secure. If KU had a great football stadium that would be a plus because I think they would need more than just Kasarani for CHAN.

GLORIOUS: What a glorious weekend! remarks Thomas Yebei on the immense entertainment for Nairobi residents during the just-ended World Under-18 Athletics Championship at the Kasarani Stadium. He adds: “Momentarily, we forgot our tribal politics and thronged Kasarani to cheer our national team, not as members of different political parties, but as Kenyans.” The downside, though, he adds, “was arriving back home in the evening to be confronted with same the ugly face of politics on TV. We need to focus on things that unite Kenyans rather than those that divide us.” His contact is [email protected].

Have a dazzling day, won’t you!

One of our biggest problem we have in our country is the Kenyan media. Kasarani was full of truly magical moments. And who brought those moments to us?..Supersport and social media. Our (mainstream) media is too busy covering politicians' diatribe to really care about things that are really important to this country.

CHAN has fewer competitors so they dont need the athletes village. A few hotels will do. Also CHAN may be in several towns across the country so other accomodation is necessary. I really dont think CHAN will work out. All news from that front is negative. I dont even know whether they have a Local organizing committee.
