This project actually has an active webcam:

That's a pretty busy site.

I hope that they didn't cancel the 7 towers which already approved

But it sounds stupid, what is the deal to approve row of towers and then cancel it?

Most (or even all) of the towers were approved outside of Neve Tsedek so they shouldn't be affected. This decision only affects buildings towers inside Neve Tsedek:

I'm pretty sure that those 7 towers were approved just outside of Neve Tsedek, so they should be built.

regardless, once you get city council approval, you're good to go. See Livar Tower, he's inside Neve Tzedek and it will get built even after this latest decision.

Obviously yes- none of them is inside Neve Tsedek. The idea of that decision isn't to prevent skyscrapers which overshadow the neighborhood but to preserve its buildings, not allowing companies to buy old buildings, demolish them and replace them with skyscrapers like Neve-Tsedek Tower which ruin the neighborhood.
I guess their model looks similar to this:

Yeah I was there about 2 years ago and while it looks nice from a far, most buildings are not that great if you stand next to them.
Most towers are gray and pretty boring (except for the tallest ones which are nice).
The really amazing thing about Singapore is the amount of shopping malls which is just crazy
On the street where my hotel was located , pretty much half of the buildings were shopping malls (the other half mostly hotels).

that's understandable when you live in a hot tropical place so close to the equator and with the heat and smog created by the urban environment!

Shopping without air-conditioning is simply a pain
