Legendary photography!

Is there a district in Wien that can be compared to Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg or Hamburg's Schanzenviertel?

Thank you!

I'm really not sure. I don't think there's anything quite like Prenzlauer Berg.
If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

I'm not sure if there are any photos on here, but there are some at http://www.railfaneurope.net/pix/at/...2BOst/pix.html if that helps.

Sadly enough I've never been there so far..
Those pictures really convince me... It looks very wonderful, a lot to do, quite a good atmosphere? At least that's what I hope..

I love Vienna. it was my first overseas trip, and my first to a country that didn't have English as its primary language. So much of it is so lovely. So civilized.

I've been back once, and had several great experiences. All of them involved getting out of the city center and exploring the neighborhoods. There's so much to explore.

It would be great is someone would start a "Real Vienna" tour, like the ones in Chicago that take outsiders through the average neighborhoods to see parts of the city that are challenging to get to for non-locals.

Couch surfing might do the deal if you are young enough. Otherwise knowing someone there is always good, but not everyone knows someone everywhere.

I am surprised myself how little tourists leave their "designated" areas which are largely but not exclusively in the first district. One of the few areas where lots of tourists go to but that are still bustling of local life (at least of a certain group of Viennese) might be the Museumsquartier, aka MQ. Maybe also Stadtpark is such a place.

I suppose Donauturm is on itinerary. But I think there is so much place to visit like Heldendenkmal der Roten Armee on Schwarzenberg platz, Seegrote, Khalenberg, Aspern Löwe ... and so much places. Wien is literally museum city. How much you see, there is so much place you can visit next time. My next visit will be to Heeresgeschitliches musem and Straßenbahn museum. And two museum military ships near Franz Assisi kirche . Stay well! Tschus

I absolutely don't like renaissance and baroque architecture at all, but your photography skills are great!
