Take it up with the weather gods. If it ever stops raining or snowing, I'm out there.

I love Otto Wagners Schleuse! One of my favourite places in Vienna.

Thanks!

I know, there are already plenty of Schönbrunn photos in this thread, but an early morning walk through the imperial gardens during the golden hour - to me it just never gets old.

While you're there, you might as well pay a visit to the oldest zoo in the world.
If you've ever been to the Bronx or San Diego, the number of animals may seem a bit disappointing at first, but do check it out anyway. The atmosphere and the well preserved 18th century buildings make up for lot.
And don't miss breakfast or lunch in the Emperor's Pavilion - the food is really excellent.

Another thing I can't seem to resist are the charming villages and vineyards of Vienna's Döbling district.
If you want to know why Vienna is repeatedly voted the most livable city in the world, look no further than the pictures below:

Let's start with Kahlenbergerdorf:

Can you believe you're still in a city of 1.7 million people?

And last, but not least, Nussdorf.
As we get closer to the tram line, it's slowly beginning to feel like we're in a city again.

I hope you enjoyed this little journey.

Great! The high level of pictures again! Thanks! The view of the city from Wienerwald attracting again - the visibility distance that day was really remarkable. Anyway the Leitha Gebirge could be visible and I suppose that Hainburger Berge as well as Kleinkarpaten near Bratislava as well.....(not on the picture)

No doubts that the morning walk in Schoenbrunn Park during off-tourist-season must be always enjoying....

Thanks, Moravian!

Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures in that direction, but I'm sure Bratislava was visible that day, if you looked close enough. I wonder if it's possible to see the Millenium Tower or other highrises from the top of Novy Most?

I had a very good time in Vienna last summer.

Loved the streets full of people and shops in the center. I want to go back to Vienna again.

Loved the new museums area.

Your pictures are wonderful, but there´s something that I saw there and that maybe it´s not clear in the pictures. Vienna is not a museum. It´s a modern city. Sometimes you see a modern ugly building in the center, but at the same time you see a living city with lots of places to enjoy a good meal, to buy or a good museum to spend an evening. Like cities like that.

Snowman, what evil spell did you cast on these pictures? A blue danube? That has to be devil's work!

The right question - but I do not know. My experience is based only on the view from Castle Hill in Bratislava (it could be compared with the view from the observing-platform at the restaurant from the top of Novy Most). What is the barrier there? So called Hainburger Berge, you see the Austrian small town Kittsee, villages Berg and Wolfsthal (just behind the border), plenty of wind-parks-power-plants - however so called Wiener Becken as well as Wienerwald are just hidden....Probably you should walk up Braunsberg in Hainburg an der Donau (I could recommend that) or Devinska Kobyla/Thoebener Koegel in order to enjoy that view - there are only lowlands - Marchfeld and Donauer-Auen. On condition that you travel do Vienna by ship (from Bratislava) - due to the foodplain forest - the outlooks are quite limited as well.
