I went there quite a lot when it was a pub called The Mitre in the 1980s (or the 70s, I 'forget' which . . probably as a result of going there too often!!)

Well, I liked it, though I know a LOT of people who didn't, it had a good cast-list, too!

I liked it mainly because it was 'atmospheric' and a lot of it was filmed down in the Dean Street area, at a time when I used to be around there a lot myself.

I wasn't in it though . . they couldn't afford me!!

Good time lapse, hadn't seen that before. Infact I've never seen any images or videos of the bridge opening at night!

my english teacher wrote the novel that purely belter is based on - The Season Ticket. he was a bit mental tbh, though an essentially nice man.

No, but I remember the seminal Rover ad that briefly features the steps outside South Shields Town Hall.

Stormy In The North by (sort of) local band The Wildhearts - shots of Pink Lane, Hanover Street and Central Station. The rest is Kettering and London apparently. Any more music vids? Surely there must be!

New ITV Drama being filmed in Newcastle.
Newcastle City Centre and Northumberland are the setting for a new ITV programme called "Vera" . . .

Re music videos, "Life in a Northern Town" was filmed predominately in Newcastle and Gateshead, aswell as shots from Salford and Pittsburgh USA. Keep a look out for the Metro (numerous times), Castle Keep, Durham Cathederal, the central motorway (the street lights are a dead giveaway). Plus some Wallsend and Gateshead streets.

Anyone seen the Red Driving School advert? Both Chillingham Road and the Coast Road are easily seen.

Top of the Pops held it's first live show in Newcastle a couple of years before it went off air, right?

Also, does the North East news count?

Tha match, the celebraty vs amatuer football thingy was held in Newcastle, the game was at St James' Park, and the used Newcastle's Benton training ground, which also was were most of the show was filmed, if that one counts aswell.

I remember CDUK which was on after SMTV live. SMTV live was the rival to Live and kicking, and CDUK was the rival to TOTP on a Saturday morning.
