The stations do not have escalators. In the concrete structure that you have indicated there are stairs to evacuate.

anyway, in case of power outage, the elevators have their own power generators in case of evacuation.

New Eastern Extensions of Sao Paulo metro, three new stations to open in Line 2 until March 2010, the first one, however, will open on December 20, 2009, just ten days away!

Official Video:

Plus, an entirely new line will open in 2010, adding 10 km to the system (later to be expanded by at least 3 km, til 2012).

A computer graphics preview of the new Luz Station in Downtown Sao Paulo, to open by mid 2010, expected to make the existing complex the busiest in town, with over 1,5 million passengers/day (there are two stations at the site already, serving some 4 or 5 lines).

This station will be the northern terminus of line 4:

Probably Fortaleza, Brazil, will have its first metro line open by late 2010 (early 2011 at latest). That means Brazil will get 1 whole new line (line 4 Sao Paulo) and two entirely new systems (Salvador and Fortaleza) , not to mention the expansion of lines 5 and 2 in Sao Paulo and new extensions in Rio (line 1 to Ipanema, one new station to open in 1 week) and Recife (new stations for line 2).
