Well I just saw a picture of the Prague 15T which had Air Conditioning written on the windows. I just assumed that Prague will get air conditioning for their 15Ts, like we have in Riga.

But still I'm wondering why didn't the Prague 15Ts get air coniditioning from the start?

That was probably the only one 15T with air condition, just for testing. Why... basicly the money issue. Prague has run into debts because of many investments at the same time (250 new trams, metro A line 4 kms prolongation and especially Blanka tunnel, part of city ring).
No money no funny...
Regarding trams, there are even negotiations with Skoda going not to buy all 250 trams...

I think the deal being discussed for the 15T trams is to have one less powered bogie (like Riga) in exchange for air-conditioning. The prototype is for testing whether this is feasible.

I don't think Skoda will let City of Prague off the hook for fulfilling the whole 250 order!

Some other European cities (e.g in Hungary) get almost 100% EU funding for new trams. Why not Prague?

You never get 100% EU funding for anything.

Prague GDP is above 100% EU average so is not qualified for EU cohesion funds. It gets some money from EU commission for metro construction for example, but much less than e.g. Budapest.

99.3% sounds pretty close to 100% to me!

Obviously it doesn't pay the Czechs to get too rich!

Unfortunattly I wasn't with my wife

Her choir took part at the "Praga Cantat" contest and on that pic is a member of her choir (he just likes to make photobombs and selfies)

She specially looked for trams to take pics for me during her trip and excursions organised there

Wow those look really really good! I love that glass roof.
Now please just don't let them ruin it by adding an ugly interior.

Prague public transport company is testing new electrobuses, they chose lines with steep sections to test it properly for Prague conditions. Last test with Siemens Rampini didn't end up well. Two years ago Prague was using two Breda Zeus M200 E on one short rather steep line in the city center and they were both send back because of breakdowns.
This time SOR EBN 8 is being tested.

I will be in Prague in July. Does anyone know if the line A extension will be operational by then? I could not find recent information about an opening date, but I would be interested to know if that information is available.

Will the metro extension affect the bus routes to the airport?

Thanks in advance!

Autumn 2014, but spring 2015 is more likely.

I guess it will affect the airport bus lines.
