Jaipur: The momentum of work on the Jaipur Metro Rail project under the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is an example of efficiency from which the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA), a perpetual laggard in completion of all its projects, should take a lesson.

Interestingly, the DMRC officials have placed a countdown timer at the entrance of their office which flashes the deadline of the completion of the metro rail project, March 2013, every day and tell engineers that the days are numbered!

"Basically, the timer has been placed to motivate the officers. It regularly informs them of the number of days left for the completion of the work," said Lalit Meghnani, director of project with DMRC. He added the practice is quite common with the Delhi and Konkan train projects.

The countdown tunes the mental state of the officers to tackle emergencies that might crop-up in the project.

"We are going to invite tender for rolling stock of track on private public partnership model. If companies do not show interest, then the DRMC will began work itself to undue evade delay," said another officer of the DMRC.

The countdown clock method of DMRC is an example for development authority that seems least concerned with the completion of their projects.

The engineers with the authority are infamous for 'delaying' the development projects, like the Ring Road project which was adopted by JDA in 2005, but work on the ground level began only in 2010.

Heritage, modernisation clash

"The officials were considering building an elevated track on the MI Road but we protested against this. It could destroy the heritage look of the market place. We met CM Gehlot to convey our concerns. Later, the layout for the Metro channel was changed and was turned towards Ashok Marg," said Suresh Saini, president of MI Road market association.

Before the change in the alignment, the Metro officials had also considered to construct the Metro track underground through the MI Road. The government was also ready to pay twice the amount for the underground track. "Yes, the underground Metro train cost more than twice the sum as compared to the elevate track. Later, the government, however, dropped the proposal as it could deface the heritage look to some extent," said an official with Metro with Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC).
Interestingly, Sheeldha Bai, former mayor, had also proposed underground parking projects on historical Chotti Chaupar and Badi Chaupar.

This is the third contract awarded to ITD - ITD Cem joint venture by DMRC. The joint venture has recently completed a Rs 290 crore contract for construction of an elevated corridor on the Qutub Minar - Gurgaon Corridor, including viaduct and structural work of five elevated stations and another contract for Rs 897 crore for a 4165 m long twin bored underground metro tunnel construction with advanced tunnel boring machine including 3 underground stations on Central Secretariat - Badarpur Corridor for the Delhi MRTS.
The Joint Venture benefits from Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited's experience in implementation of major MRTS projects in Thailand and Taiwan, combined with ITD Cementation India Ltds experience in various phases of the Delhi MRTS.
The company made this announcement on 13 December 2010.

श्रीधरन ने मेट्रो परियोजना का जायजा लिया



पाइल परीक्षण लगभग पूरा, कास्टिंग यार्ड का निरीक्षण किया, टर्मिनल भवन की जगह देखी

जयपुर। दिल्ली मेट्रो रेल कॉरपोरेशन के प्रबंध निदेशक ई. श्रीधरन ने बुधवार को मानसरोवर से चांदपोल तक प्रस्तावित मेट्रो रेल कोरिडोर का निरीक्षण किया। उन्होंने मेट्रो कोरिडोर, स्टेशन, टर्मिनल और कास्टिंग यार्ड के प्लान की जानकारी ली। श्रीधरन मंगलवार रात जयपुर पहुंचे थे। उन्होंने सवेरे 9.30 बजे भांकरोटा स्थित कास्टिंग यार्ड से दौरे की शुरुआत की। वहां पर दिल्ली मेट्रो के अधिकारियों ने उन्हें बताया कि जेडीए से कास्टिंग यार्ड के लिए 35000 वर्गमीटर जमीन ली है। दिल्ली मेट्रो के अधिकारियों ने श्रीधरन को बताया कि पाइल टेस्टिंग का काम लगभग पूरा हो गया है। अब जल्द पियर फाउंडेशन का काम शुरू किया जाएगा।

मानसरोवर टर्मिनल भवन का प्लान देखा
उन्होंने मानसरोवर में टर्मिनल के लिए किए जा रहे निर्माण को देखा। उन्होंने बनने वाले मेट्रो स्टेशन के लिए मिलने वाली जमीन और पार्किंग स्थल का जायजा लिया। वहां पर अधिकारियों ने बताया कि यहां आने जाने के लिए एक्सीलेटर लगाए जाएंगे। साथ ही मेट्रो ट्रेन खड़ी करने के लिए यहां शैड बनाया जाना है। यहां लगभग एक हजार वाहनों की पार्किंग बनाया जाना प्रस्तावित है। इसी तरह का टर्मिनल भवन चांदपोल स्थित शिक्षा विभाग के दफ्तर की जमीन पर बनाया जाएगा।



मेट्रो कोरिडोर का निरीक्षण किया :
श्रीधरन ने इसके बाद गुर्जर की थड़ी से चांदपोल तक के मार्ग का निरीक्षण किया। यहां विवेक विहार, श्यामनगर एक्सटेंशन, रामनगर, सोडाला, सिविल लाइंस, रेलवे स्टेशन, चांदपोल गेट के बाहर बनने वाले भूमिगत स्टेशन की जगह देखी। डीएमआरसी के अधिकारियों ने उन्हें यहां बनने वाले भूमिगत स्टेशन का प्लान बताया। श्रीधरन ने पार्किंग प्रोजेक्ट संभावित वाहनोंं की संख्या को देखते हुए ही बनाने को कहा।

The DMRC MD expressed satisfaction on the progress of the work and said that the Jaipur metro project has been designed in accordance with the future transportation needs of the city.

The project is expected to be completed at the scheduled time, he said. "The first phase of the Jaipur Metro will be completed by June 2013. As of now, four of the seven work orders have already been issued for the purpose and the process for the remaining three will be completed by month-end," said Sreedharan.

Addressing the traders, protesting over the land acquisition issue, the Metro man said that efforts are being made to ensure minimum inconvenience to the public. However, the essential requirement for land will have to be fulfilled. Sreedharan arrived in the city on Tuesday evening and started site visit from the casting yard located in Bhankroat.

According to DMRC officials, 35,000 square metre of land has been sanctioned by the Jaipur Development Authority for development of the construction work. The officials of Jaipur Metro Railway corporation (JMRC) said that the pile testing work being held on Ajmer Road has been almost completed and pillar foundation work will soon be initiated. During the visit, Sreedharan also took a review of the progress on the metro corridor intersecting the railway tracks.

DMRC has designed the detailed project report for the ambitious metro project and has been awarded work for development of the first phase of metro corridor from Mansarovar to Chandpole. The metro will be developed on an elevated corridor from Mansarvoar to Sindhi Camp passing through New Sanganer road, Sodala and Ajmer Road. From Sindhi Camp, underground track will be developed till Chandpole.

Yes that is their logo as of now. The light bit is pink and the dark bit is maroon. It's ugly and I hope they're planning to use just for initial purposes and change it later on. It doesn't look very professional either.

The committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) secretary Shuchi Sharma with members of JMRC. Initially, the committee has preferred the process of compensation on the model of Ring Road project. In the Ring Road project, the JDA has decided to give the affected people (primarily farmers) 25% of the aquired land in a developed area.

"Yes, we are considering this compensation model in Metro train project. The people could be compensated developed areas on the Metro train route," said Sharma, chairman of the committee. However, she clarified that she did not receive any such case so far. "We have to receive the list of the acquired properties. Later, the option of developed land will be used on the merit basis," said she. The sources in JMRC also hinted that people will be relocated and rehabilitated at nearest locations

मेट्रो के लिए हाइटेंशन लाइन अंडरग्राउंड होगी

मेट्रो परियोजना के लिए श्यामनगर एक्सटेंशन से वेदवाटिका तक आ रही हाइटेंशन लाइन को भूमिगत किया जाएगा। मेट्रो के तीसरे चरण में इस लाइन का करीब 400 मीटर का टुकड़ा आ रहा है। पूर्व में दिक्कत आ रही थी कि मेट्रो को हाइटेंशन लाइन से ऊपर और नीचे से नहीं गुजारा जा सकता। ऐसे में इसका विकल्प भूमिगत करना निकाला गया। दूसरी ओर हसनपुरा से चांदपोल तक की जमीन अवाप्ति का प्रस्ताव राज्य सरकार को भिजवा दिया है। इस प्रस्ताव में सबसे ज्यादा दुकानें, मकान, पांच सितारा होटल, एक व्यावसायिक कॉम्पलेक्स की जमीन आएगी। जयपुर मेट्रो रेल कॉरपोरेशन (जेएमआरसी) ने चार चरणों में जमीन अवाप्ति का प्रस्ताव राज्य सरकार को भिजवाया है। इसमें पहले चरण गुर्जर की थड़ी से विवेक विहार तक की अवाप्ति को राज्य सरकार ने मंजूरी दे दी है। दूसरे चरण में श्यामनगर एक्सटेंशन व तीसरे चरण में अजमेर पुलिया तक की जमीन अवाप्ति का प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी दी जानी है।

चौथे चरण में हसनपुरा आरओबी से रेलवे जंक्शन, स्टेशन रोड, राजपूताना शेरेटन के पास से गुजरते हुए चांदपोल स्थित पुराने पागलखाने के भवन तक की जमीन अवाप्त की जाएगी
