For the buildings - aedas is unbeatable. Really good work on the design. Can also be because of the Murphy/Jahn renderings looks so old and blurry. Not selling at all! But as I like to believe, most buildings looks much better in reality than on renderings. Also, the public space between the buildings in Murphy/Jahn looks kinda intersesting. Just cross ur fingers and hope for the best

This project probably won't see daylight for a while, the land acquisition battle has become a cluster**** for the city government. Original residents have rejected the city government's proposal of relocating to a fairly close new high rise area, or the RMB 20,000/m^2 compensation, and are demanding RMB 50,000/m^2 (USD714/ft^2), which is actually higher than market value. Suning has just purchased a dedicated plot to build relocation housing for those guys so maybe it will finally get resolved. Meanwhile sights similar to this is visible at many residential blocks, the display of national flag will discourage demolition teams because according to the law it's a very serious offense to damage the flag in any way.

went to the area today. there is definately some sort of dismatling activity taking place as some shop owners are closing up their shops and moving away, signs and billboards are gone on the houses. However some people seem to remain as some shops still have lights on. I will keep an eye on the situation as it literally develops right under my eyes.

Is demolition completed yet, Julito? Apparently it has been 6+ months since demolition has started. We have a final design and so if demolition is complete, this complex should at least start prep/piling soon.

Demolition is 90% complete now, the remaining 10% are still under intensive negotiation. Some 100 families refuse to leave and demanding more money, the article is pretty interesting as it singled out three examples, one executive from a local real estate company demands RMB 2 million for his 61 m^2 apartment. I think most likely Suning will just pay up rather than delaying the project any longer.

reminds me of when Samsung was building a complex in gangnam. One old guy held out and wanted so much money. Finally the developers built around him and he got nothing! Haha

Compensations above 200-300% the market value of a property should be illegal, it's pure corruption.

This one could be far taller than expected.
Tower 1: 438m plus a huge spire, 100 floors.
Tower 2: 358m, 70 floors
Tower 3: 265m, 58 floors

They didn't credit the source as usual. But the renders are hosted in www.njghj.gov.cn so I don't think they are fake.

finally back to a height far over 400m as we had in the beginning. the design is simply amazing. futuristic designs are exactly what nanjing likes to build it seems and it fits perfectly to the buildings we do already have planned in the skyline. i really hope it goes get build this way

also seeing as the difference between second tallest and tallest is 80m in height and the spire on top is nearly as tall as said difference this building will be a little over 500m to the tip
