I think it makes economic sense to have a single tall tower only as 2 tower will cost more to build and do not fully maximize the land.

Mid Valley LRT link

Abdullah Hukum station to be transport hub linking KL Eco City
SHAHRIM TAMRIN
Friday, June 17th, 2011 11:20:00

KUALA LUMPUR: VISITORS to Mid Valley will have the convenience of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) thanks to a development linking it with Abdullah Hukum LRT station. A Komuter train station will also be built alongside the present LRT station to complement a new mega mixed-development project known as KL Eco City (KLEC).

It is learnt both stations will serve as a link between the two rail systems for KLEC and Mid Valley City. The KLEC will also have a station on the proposed third MRT line, expected to be completed in 10 years.

KTM Bhd president Aminuddin Adnan said a new train station would be built by KLEC developer, SP Setia Bhd, and it was expected to be completed over the next two years.

“We had a meeting recently with the developer on the proposed station to complement the new mega development and we have agreed to have a new Komuter station alongside Abdullah Hukum LRT station,” he told The Malay Mail yesterday. The new station would link commuters from Klang directly to Mid Valley. Aminuddin said the Angkasapuri train station, which was a kilometre away, would remain.

Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd (Prasarana) group managing director Shahril Mokhtar welcomed the Abdullah Hukum rail station integration at Jalan Bangsar. He said the LRT Abdullah Hukum station recorded the lowest ridership and was underutilised.

“The two-station combination will encourage seamless integration and ease the congestion at KL Sentral,” Shahril said.

KL mayor Tan Sri Ahmad Fuad Ismail said high-accessibility for public transport was part of a development condition imposed by City Hall for the KLEC project.

"We had set strict guidelines before City Hall gave the development approval five months ago," he said.

KLEC is an urban redevelopment joint-venture project between SP Setia and City Hall on a 20-acre plot located opposite Mid Valley City.

The project would include four high-rise office towers, four condominium blocks, a serviced apartment block and 12 blocks of boutique office.

Hahaha, and I thought this tower was an old render of Gardens Office Tower (the one in front of IGB)... The design is almost an exact carbon copy, albeit much taller!

And construction starts in November? Cool, that's just a short month away, but wonder what will happen to that exit road that comes out from the Megamall's basement?

Looks like Cendana and Gardens hybrid, both by IGB development. Probably it will be called Garcen

I wonder whether it will be called Southpoint as the architecture and colour scheme is totally different from Northpoint and Centerpoint office.

There is a scale model of the final phase in the lobby of Gardens South tower.

Isn't it nice if they can convert the roof top of MidValley Megamall into a roof top garden like what was done in Lot 10. I guess it will never happen
